the official 08 NBA playoffs thread

so the wizards are getting annoying as all hell. its obvious they've given up hope on the court so they're taking all their shit talking to new levels by asking everyone to get lippy and act like babies in hopes of getting into the heads of the cavs. they're looking incredibly desperate when the spotlights hit em. i actually almost feel bad for them, but their attitude and stupidity makes it forgivable. they're all a bunch of crying babies... its no wonder we're stomping them. it's looking more and more like that one game was not so much a fluke, but more a charity case so that we could spare them some embarrassment of a sweep. obviously they're not very grateful as they still wont shut up. who are they to talk all this trash anyways? if you cant back it up then why bother talkin at all?

also, i dont know who gilbert arenas is, but he's certainly not mr clutch this series. i love watching mr self absorbed self destruct. he cant make a single important shot (or many more for that matter). i dont know what planet his shots are hovering over, but they're certainly not dropping in our baskets.

arenas is just coming off an injury, he's definitely not at 100%, in fact I think the wizards play better without him right now.

looks like dallas is out of here by the way, NO was too much for them.

Gilbert Arenas is pretty good. I will give them that. it's just that while he was injured this year, the Wizards learned how to play without him (with All-Stars Stevenson and Jamison) and they learned how to play without him well.

this sort of trash-talking and name-calling might work against an Eastern team like Boston, who have essentially no playoff experience whatsoever - but to a now playoff hardened (holy shit I love saying that!) Cleveland Cavaliers team, it comes off as grown children bickering and throwing 'bows on the middle school court.

that jersey he's sporting is dope

fact is arenas IS good, but fact is, he's not 100%... all that means is that he wont be able to be as clutch as predetermined before every game by his loud mouth. he practically comes out and says he's gonna hit the clutch shots to win and or tie the game... body language and attitude conveys that message to me along with past things he's said. it makes me happy to see that he of all people injured or not (i really dont care) misses every shot that REALLY counts so far this series. i love it. they talk their shit, but they havent proven that they can beat the cavs on the court... isnt that what really matters here??? maybe im confused. :D

Orlando magic tapping their feet waiting patiently.....come on detroit....haha the wizards talked all that shit and actually backed it up, now im not dissing on lebron or anything, but this "basketball god" or second coming missed that final shot pretty bad......jordan woulda nailed it and got the foul

yeah, he missed that last running basket when he should have made it - but such is life. he scored 34 points so of course he had an excellent game.

all the Wiz did was extend their eventual summer vacation by a couple more days.

Well if Orlando is still tapping their collective feet it is, I am sure, because they are nervous enough to start pissing their pants. Detroit has been on its game for the past 3; no question about it, they are now ready to play. They needed a good scare from Philly and they got it. Get ready Orlando.

Such is also the difference between Superduperstars like Magic, Larry, MJ, Kobe . . .

. . . and merely excellent players who often play very very well for 47-plus minutes, and then, when the game is on the line, and everyone in the building KNOWS who's about to take the winning last-second shot . . .

Congrats on winning 60 percent of your play-off games so far against what would be the West's Number Ten Seed (AT BEST).

And savor the NBA's Fourth Best Young (Healthy) Player for two more seasons (plus 4 or 5 games against Boston this month).

At least you'll always have the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.

Finally...after 4 pages...I'm here to contribute...

looks like you haven't lost a step LL... the Kobe Train is on schedule to take home ring no.4...

Now all I want is to see a miracle by the Hornets to knock out the Spurs...no more Ratings Cancers on the NBA!!! I'm looking at you San Anton, Detroit, and Utah!

Dwight Howard? You mean the Dwight Howard who's averaging 22.6 in the post-season? If that's your big gun, your big game changer; if that's what you are staking your entire hope of beating Detroit on, I think I might laugh.
