the Lakers are manhandling Denver
Is this surprising to ANYONE?
They're going to manhandle Utah/Houston, as well.
San Antonio/Phoenix/New Orleans/Dallas might pose a challenge, as will the team who just lost a playoff game to the Hawks.
But anyone who has been hating on Kobe and has been underestimating his VALUE in all of those seasons that he either:
(1) Threepeated ("Sure, but that was Shaq's team");
or
(2) Placed a bunch of scrubs on his back, and to took them to the verge of beating extremely talented well-rounded Suns' teams ("But he was so selfish");
or
(3) FINALLY, this year, has a competent second-best player, and is FINALLY in a position of being BY FAR the best player on arguably the league's best team . . .
. . . might want to reconsider their stance on the relative VALUE of Mr. Bryant.
Or, in the alternative, people can keep their Kobe-hating-based-completely-on-non-basketball-related-issues and miss enjoying getting to root for the most complete basketball player of our lifetimes.
He's been the league's most VALUABLE player for every second of the past 4-plus seasons, and he's just ENTERING his prime, but some people refuse to be objective, and THAT'S how you get idiotic MVP results like "Mailman over MJ" or "Anyone in today's NBA (Nash? Nowitzki? Are You F'ing Kidding Me?) over Kobe."
Jordan should have won at least 10 MVP's, and unless he gets hit by a bus, Kobe will end his career having been the league's dominant player for at least that long (in a MORE competitive league).
But please voters, give it to KG, because he, like Nash, and like Nowitzki, is a very good player on a very good team, and he never allegedly raped anyone.
