Megathread The OFFICAL Anime Appreciation Megathread! vers Moshi Moshi

speedracer.jpg

other than a short period of time when i watched DBZ when majin boo was a fat baby turning people into chocolate, SPEED RACER is the only anime i've ever connected with.

everyone should watch Mahou Shoujo Madoka becuase it's like sailor moon only it's all grimdark and they all die and shit.
I will check it out. you have a good taste my good sir.
I started watching Cowboy Bebop again, i'm on episode 14. I started watching it years ago, but as with many other series, I always end up finishing it years later.

Bubblegum Crisis 2040 was one that I recently finished around the end of last year, but I started it back in 1999.

Here's a good place to watch streaming anime episodes: http://www.dontpoststreaminglinks.com

Here's a good place to get torrents: http://www.reallyreallydontposttorrents.php

I love cowboy bebop.. stayd up watching it on adult swim last night.. my favorite episode is "Mushroom Samba". Where they all take mushrooms and trip through the entire show lol.

I watched some Big O last night, and it ended it "To be continued", i'm like wtf? i catch the last 10 mins, and its looking good. and now this shit.?

..

i really need to get my laptop back so i can watch shit streaming and not have to wait every weekend.

@TG. no anime lovers post in F&T. i've yet to see anyone post any anime related topic there.

You could be the first! Start a new trend. Just get this steaming pile of Japanese bullshit out of here.

I don't know much about anime, but i recently re-watched Ghost in the Shell and was thrilled with it. I've also seen Akira and Perfect Blue. Having re-watched Ghost in the Shell, I now plan on doing the same with those two.

And I added Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade to my queue. Never seen it before, but I remember seeing ads for it around when it came out. Wanted to see it, but didn't then. Forgot about it until recently, after Ghost in the Shell got me thinking about anime movies again.

edit: oh yeah, and i just watched Paprika for the first time. overall, i liked it.

All the anime basement dwellers troll the lounge so this thread will prbly die a slow death here in f&t.

i don't know, i enjoy some anime. like mentioned above, i liked Akira, Ghost in the Shell, and all those other palatable, trippy anime. Paprika was the last one I saw that I really adored.

I haven't seen that many series, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo and Afro Samurai are some that spring to mind and were all great :) There seems to be a lot of crap to sift through though. I tried watching a little of Bleach, Naruto, and DBZ and didn't get fa in any of them.

I got really into some of the films like Akira, Ninja Scroll etc when I was a wee-little-young belarki because, you know, ultra violence and animated boobies seemed to go hand in hand with getting stoned back then. These days I try to watch any studio Ghibli film that comes out as 9 times out of 10 they're amazing. Others that I've seen recently that were decent are Summer Wars and The Girl Who Lept Through Time.

My little sister is a manga/anime addict. I'll ask her what she recommends when I see her next. I know she adores Full Metal Alchemist.

Edit: Ghost in the shell (the original film, haven't seen the series or sequel/s?) was great too, amazing animation standards when it was released and I love the soundtrack.

.

full metal alchemist blew my mind, you should def check it out %)

btw do people like watching anime in subs or dubs?

When i first got into it i watched it in dubs, but once i started watching in subs you cant go back, and usually the dub is done really badly so the voices sound retarded

Not much of an anime fan here, but there have been a few that have caught my interest over the years. I enjoyed the Cowboy Bebop movie, and I love Miyazaki's films. Otherwise I let the Japanese keep their culture and instead promote fat stupid American animation whenever I can.

Boo-urns

i'm pretty much manga-only at this point, since directors tend to take a lot of liberty in changing the story (usually for the worse) when animating, plus all the filler episodes are just god-awful.

i'll only watch a series if it was an original animation project (like most stuff by Gainax <3) or if its something i really want to see.
