the nfl 10-11 prediction thread

I don't think that's the sure bet, I would take San Diego over Oakland. the Raiders truly have nothing going for them... again. I've got Indy winning, but KC should run the ball all over that porous Colts defense, and in the NFL if you can run the ball you have a chance of winning.

nobody is with me in my Carolina over Chicago pick?! I don't think ya'll realize that the Bears are sans-Jay Cutler. granted Carolina is pretty bad, so I could be wrong...

I just that the Carolina is WORSE at home if you can believe that. However Carolina actually has a decent defense which is enough to match the bears. I think if carolina wins the turnover battle they win the game.
I do think Kansas City is a decent team but they are not going to beat Indy on the road.

as much as weekends like this and the last one stink and are difficult to call, it is exactly why I think the NFL is the best sports organization in the entire world.

one simple word: parity

^ Yep...my picks were horrible, but considering this is all for fun that actually makes me really happy. It really feels like, with the exception Buffalo and maybe Carolina, any time can beat any team.

Oh yeah and I told yall that the Raiders would pull through :)

congrats on that pic, my friend. I think that in the NFL it is more difficult to predict the outcome of two teams that are having a sub-par season, than two teams that are having an above-average season

another tough week. lots of people - myself included - picked sure things which ended up being unsure things. congrats to phrozen for the win. you guys should think about picking the home team in every match-up :)

lovelife, you have a lot of confidence in the advice you dispense. why not join us in picking the winners each week?

Thanks. I'm in a pick em league that uses confidence points, which are killing me, but picking the Giants over the Texans helped put me at #1 in there as well. Man am I glad no one picked the Raiders.

Wow. A bunch of people picking the Lions over the Giants. What are you guys seeing that I'm not? Their defense looks good, Bradshaw and Nicks are having good years, and Eli isn't that bad. And it's a home game. Being an Eagles fan, they scare me the most in the NFC East.

This also brings up a question that's sometimes raised amongst friends irl, who would you rather have as your qb, Eli or Romo?

A few tough games to pick this week, GB vs MIA (if Rodgers is out), OAK vs SF, and DAL vs MIN.

Eli for sure. at least Eli Manning can win playoff games. and one could argue that Tony Romo has had a far more talented team than Eli has ever had. regular season stats are nice and gravy, but I look at the NFL playoffs to truly test the mettle of NFL quarterbacks
