The next big scene

All drugs are popular in one place or another. the question is which is the drug that most represents and influences the currect generation of music/art/film/fashion/"coolness". I would argue, despite this seeming like nonsense, it is ketamine (or even DXM!) I don't know, this is just my feeling. sure it is only really popular in certain areas, but most major cities I think (like NY, London, Chicago, SF, Paris, whatever).Think of dubstep, house, "dark dnb", ragga, all these new-fangled styles are highly dissociated. My vote goes for K (tho I wish it was HEREEEEEE)

LSD is making a comeback and more and more people are trying DMT, but if I wanted to pick out anything that everyone's getting really exposed to these days, it'd be pharmies. I'm on the East Coast so don't really know the extent of the meth problem out west but from all reports I hear it's just incredibly widespread and devastating. You know what? Our generation likes drugs. Period. And often they are being taken for their own sake, to get drugfucked, rather than in some other context, like the "scenes" youve mentioned ... and that's the biggest shame.

im going to go with some research chemical getting big...

Bromo-Dragonfly would have a massive amount of potential if the trip wasn't 24 hours... its got a very low active dosage, less than 2mg, but more towards 1.... close to the potency of lsd, but a much more stable molecule...

and as it stands its too far away from any illegal drug to be prosecuted under the analog act... benzodifurans arent scheduled at all...

but i can see psychs getting popular... around here people eat blotter like they are never going to see it again, ive heard stories from people selling hundreds of hits in a single weekend...

but prescription drugs are some of the more abused ones, sure everyone smoked weed but so many people are on oxy, ive never really gotten into that scene but i know people who have and have heard the stories about going to the dope houses... little kids running around while they wait for the person to go fetch a few pills... adults who look like respectable members of society going to pick up a supply of oxy with their kids waiting in the car...

i would love to see K show up, but most people here have never even heard of it, you ask for it and they just give you a blank look...

meth is just sort of in the background, its around and people use it but its not been destroying any communities, same goes for coke...

Round here the pills are shite, the cokes cut to buggery, the acid is fake or shit and the speed is more caffine than amphetamine

The only half decent quality drug i can get is ketamine, but 99% of the people round here still bleat the 'horse tranq' crap. Any drug which is fun, clean and fits a slightly popular scene would spread like wildfire if it were readily available

A new drug in the Atlanta area called "Heaven" it is a smokeable mix of Heroin, Coke and Ice, it has to be rocked up with Sprite i heard, havent tried it but they say it is unfucking believable, but several people have ODed on it

Heroin for sureee.... statistics show that more adolescent kids in the U.S are becoming addicted to heroin more than any other drug. Im sure meth is still in the lead as far as how many people are addicted, but it is only in certain area of the country. Most people have never even seen meth on the east coast. But ever since we went over to Afgahnistan and kicked the Taliban out heroin has been making a hugeeee comeback. So yea for sure heroin is def, and already is going to be the next thing. Fuck meth, fuck coke, heroin is what is really going to fuck this nation up. Mark my words. I love the shit, but i also think it is the most evil thing on this earth. and yea coke is deadddd as well dead.

Yeah dope is definitely "cool" again in certain circles. Shit's cyclical I suppose.

there is a ddifference between the "next big scene" and whatever powder your friends are shoving up their noses in the closet this weekend...

I think the next big scene is the festival scene. More and more are popping up every year. You can go to festivals and see the biggest names in electronica, hiphop, reggae, jamband, indie, etc. all in one 3 to 7 day party with between 200 and 200,000 people. There's a festival every weekend up here in the northeast.

The scene is dying. It's dying because of drugfucked fucknuttery. But it probably has a few years left in it, and then it'll morph into something else. Who knows? But sometimes at festivals I feel like what I imagine it felt like to be a deadhead in 1995. Those of you who were at UGS4 this past weekend, I wasn't there, but it sounds like you get the same feeling :( shit is sad, sad, sad ...

Now when I'm chillin out tryin to nod on a couch im gunna have to put up with a bunch of hippy spacetime crap. Sure I can talk that stuff with the best, but I've been there and done it and I'm sick of the fact that there is no god damned answer.

=D

Amen, brutha.

DMT is getting pretty popular. Heroin is making a pretty big comeback too, as well as LSD.

I hope LSD comes back full force and causes a fucking revolution......heres to wishful thinking.

i used to think that, until i "realised" (i.e. of course its my opinion) that it simply cannot. i have discovered far deeper and greater revelations from experiences that were natural and spontaneous, i.e. "real", not artificial like acid. i.e. people who take acid and realise something are ready to; otherwise it is just a drug that does what it does. there was no lasting effect ot the 60s revolution. it wasn't even a real revolution, just an anti-war thing was the only political aspect of it. they did tons of drugs, anything that felt good. lsd cannot single handedly do shit all. only human will can.

If any drug(s) become the next big thing, I think it will be pharmaceuticals. Coke has become such a shitty stepped on joke of a drug that I don't ever think it will regain its former glory. But I also think that in todays society there will never be another huge drug and music revolution. Its just not feesable, unless there is some new super RC developed(not psychedelic in nature). I think this because in todays society we want results, and predictable ones at that. "wham bam thank you mam" I think there is just to much drugs and scenes to choose from for one particular drug or scene to emerge on top. But who knows maybe im wrong maby the meth epidemic will keep on growing and growing until hope is all but lost.

My town must be stale.

Seems like nothing has really changed over the past ten years.

Coke/crack is still the most prevalent drug around.

Biggest change has been the lack of raves and a lack of drugs associated with them since the RAVE Act.

Im in the north east. Really don't see meth at all. It was around a while ago. Now the only time I hear about is when idiots go store to store buying psuedoephedrine pills and get flagged from multiple purchases.......this happens at least once or twice a week.
