The next big scene

The Rave Culture is just now entering some parts of the world (IE The midwest were we are allegedly 5 years behind or something). I still believe there is nothing better then the rave scene. And I honestly dont see it dying out anytime soon.
I support this statement. I live in Minnesota and the scene is alive and well here; though things have been done very cautiously and many people frown upon kids like me dancing our hearts out while messed up on drugs. Lots and lots of ppl in the 25+ yrs old crowd that wear club attire and just get drunk and bob their heads till 3 or 4 in the morning and then the hardcore beat slaves take over the majority.

This shift towards shunning/rejecting the drug related aspect of rave was kicked off by a local TV station's news segment back in where they hit up one of those raves that just goes off the hook and they got lots of drug use and sales on camera and many people went to jail because of it. It just figures that the party they pick to infiltrate is some out of control halloween rave that probably had the most open drug use out of any party that year. I walked into the bathroom at 4am there to find some guy sitting on the tile floor in a puddle of water/urine IVing some ketamine so you can imagine what the general public thought of the footage the rave-crashing reporters caught (though they didn't get that trainwrecked dude on film thank god). If anyone is interested in the WCCO segment you can see it on youtube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jifmwHZMLVQ

The golden age of massive out of control underground parties is pretty much long gone here; but we've still got lots going on at secured legal venues that the cops rarely shut down. Like tonight I'm going to the second night of an all weekend long (24hrs/3days) anime convention at a hotel with 3 stages put on by some local Minneapolis promoters. Huzzah for 3 rooms of locals tearin' it up around the perimeter of a big indoor pool area. Gonna smoke a little more shaze and meybe eat some boomers and check out teh girlies in the cosplay fashion show. Midwest massif reprazent! Plurz out all.

the next drug revolution will be an end in itself. especially in the united states, more and more criticism is landing on the DEA for a 50 year war lost, billions of tax payers money wasted. the next administration will turn its view from foreign affair to domestic criminalization of silly drug crimes. shits turning red and i'm about to bounce, there's just no where to go. i hear of all this awesome shit happening all over the world but from country to country couch hopping, it seems like its getting harder and harder to find anything worth doing. the drug years are over, we live in a police state, i'm completely straight and still get paranoid when i see a cop behind me. we're hiding in old factories hoping no one hears the DJ, smoking blunts behind buildings before going into the club. i'm tired of sneaking... the pharmaceutical companies should invent an invisible drug, something we can spray on us and not get caught. bathe in pop rocks.

i don't see mdma going away here in denver anytime soon. in the metro area you've got a conglomeration of all the different sorts, then you go up to the suburbs around boulder and you've got a lot of pharms, RCs and opiates, boulder itself is a lot of coke and psychs, colorado springs and ft collins [the two closest cities of decent sizes, one's an hour north, the other's an hour south] are mostly meth dens.

i watched that youtube video about minneapolis... reminds me of the freakout stories the news used to air here in the early 2000s. we had a lot of deaths from people being irresponsible and drinking too much water, and one person that was candy flipping and threw themselves off a balcony at a pretty big annual massive. somehow our rave scene has survived all of it though and we've got a lot of really good local talent. there is a distinct difference between parties and clubs here, though. we have one insane club right now that's booking schedule looks like something from one of the coasts [seriously, i can't believe the lineup this place has and we're in the middle of nowhere, technically] and some nights it's like a rave in there. paul van dyk, armin van buuren, benny benassi... it's wall to wall shoulder to shoulder not moving except your arms. aside from nights like that though, there's a very small percentage of people who go to clubs here and roll. but our rave scene is still trucking along.

I try to keep to the drugs I think are "true", attack me if you will but I don't think meth is "true" but i have recently gotten it in molly. And I do think Pure MDMA is a "true" drug.
I think I somewhat follow what you're trying to say; but how do you attempt to define what are "true" drugs and what drugs aren't? I think what you're trying to say is that a drug like MDMA is "true" because as a whole experience it tends to give more than it takes. And enhances your interactions with others. Whereas meth gives a whole lot of high and then takes away from you a whole lot more in addition to slowly turning most regular to heavy users into shady muthafuckas...

I think pharms are only getting bigger in the next couple years, and if the quality rolls would go up or molly being more readily available, less cut.. I think ecstasy could have a HUGE comeback, even though its not dead by a long shoit... things are nothing compared to how they were....

I'm putting my bet on the festivalization of music being the catalyst in a new scene emerging. More and more festivals keep popping up each year, and music is starting to emerge thats very unique to the jam band scene. With the record companies losing so much money on people downloading free music, I can imagine even more festivals and similar events being put on by the music industry itself, in addition to the independent promoters who mostly put on parties and festivals. And of course anyone who has been to a festival knows how much drugs are there. The drugs being used are probably going to remain LSD, MDMA, other psyches, etc, but probably more RC's will be used once more is known about them. I totally agree that ecstasy use won't go away at all, as long as MDMA still has the same effect on the human brain, it'll remain popular.

I also agree that heroin is getting bigger, at least in my area. The supply of painkillers is waning fast, and alot of people have been turning to dope. Also it seems like every kid on the planet now knows what DMT is and seems very interested in it.

I think if the level of MDMA per pill goes up and there are less adulterated pills, in 2-3 years MDMA will be strong again. Too many people tell me they would try it if it was safe. No more METH and PMA and some say DXM and MDMA is golden!

fuck right now coke has been huge along with crack

in toronto much bigger then opiates

but i think the scene does go in cycles like the fashion scene

so its something stimulating at a time, then something more chill

i think e will always have its place in dance music culture- especially for newcomers. and in north america dance music is rapidly becoming more popular. so e goes along with that although e use has not been really popular as a street drug- its a niche drug and its use pattern is more like psychdelics.

i think after coke populairty slows down, opiates will make another comeback though- especially in our hectic fast paced society

on music and drugs. i dj and i use opiates. and this fact has definately changed my djing style. i play a very relaxing, moody, deep, progressive blend of house music that is so nice to listen to on opiates.

and one thing i just realized. i think that a drug seriously affects people and popular culture when it is a new drug that comes out. like when coke first spread in popularity it was huge. also mdma exploding in popularity made its mark on music and dance. acid exploding made it mark on rock. popular culture is somethign ACCESIBLE to people. so when a drug starts to become fashinonable, create a buzz, and becomes widely available then it starts to affect alot of people and the culture around its use. so my guess is some new kind of drug that comes out and has the potential to create a positive experince will become huge. and it has to be something novel and intriguing like all the drugs that affect pop culture.

I think its going to be acid, there is some real quality L around my area and more and more people are tripping for the first time, and getting more people to trip.

its spreadin outt mann

Tryptamine and phenethylamine psychedelics are going to become SO popular. Just give it a little bit of time, and you'll see.

Recently, in my area at least, LSD specifically has been making the rounds in full force. We're inundated with the shit. We have more than we could possibly know what to do with; which has been a refreshing change from the drought years. Only good things can come out of that. :D

Psychedelics - I think we need 'em at this point as the world is tightening up again. But then again, who knows? Time will tell; perhaps something we'd never expect.
I agree we need another Dr. Leary. I trip to figure shit out from time to time It always makes me feel centered.

I think it will be a new neuronal revolution the drugs are only the vehicle.
With drugs the brain therapie is more effektive and faster.

The drugs are only a key to the brain.

The only what i know is that this what i now at this moment see is real all other is brainfuck.

Our mind were formed since we can think ! Most of the people build up an imaginär Mindconstruct about the reality. What is tomorow ? Yesterday i was bla bla bla...
But all these things are not here in the moment who is real so I belive in nothing because i dont know when the moment exactly started all i have learnd had this person only heard from another too.

At this moment i found a realy cool law about reality creation. When I can build a believe in a Mind of a person is this a controlled entering in the reality process.

if the person strenghfull believe in a story were the future is better because the plans are now in process. and this story had for all problems the key. the person beginn a personal relationship to the story they more possible it is so more the person want to believe.

The hole system is on this simple rule based. WE ALL BELIEVE IN THINGS AND ATTIDUDES WHICH HAS OTHER PEOPLE THINK.

So i think my story is more better for all of us because in my world there is only one rule.

This mighty story is not a fantasie because i have people who believe in that. So you are interessted what i here write true or false.

Ask me and i will give you the key

I think the next big scene is the festival scene. More and more are popping up every year. You can go to festivals and see the biggest names in electronica, hiphop, reggae, jamband, indie, etc. all in one 3 to 7 day party with between 200 and 200,000 people. There's a festival every weekend up here in the northeast.

It almost seems like bands nowadays are more into not doing drugs and emphasizing that. Alcohol not included. As far as the punk/indie scene goes anyway. Pretty lame I think

I'm rooting for the resurgence of psychedelics

Yeah, the whole indie scene is full of losers. There are only a few good artists, and most of their fans suck.
