The New MDMA Replacements, and the legal implications

Hi All,

After much consideration and reading - I've found two possibly decent, yet rather unresearched chemicals that have popped up in the wake of the Mephedrone bebacle.

The first, which is most likely considered an anlogue of MDA, is ... drumroll.... 'benzo fury' or 1-(benzofuran-6-yl)propan-2-amine.. or 6-ADPB or something like that (sorry i'm not cut and pasting at the moment). Now one could say this drug would be considered the desoxy analogue of MDA, as structurally, i'd call it substancially similar to MDA, minus an oxygen atom. Reports i've read on this chemical compare it extremely positively as an MDMA replacement, with little to no noticeable difference, apart from an obvious MDAish psychedelic edge.

The second is an Amino-Indane, 5-IAI or 5-iodo-2-aminoindane. This drug was first created by the Nichol group, and has a very similar pharmacological profile to MDMA. Based on tests in the animal model, it substitutes completely for MDMA in rats trained to differentiate MDMA, MBDB etc from saline. Based on data i've read, which is not to say just bioassay reports - It produces 3 key factors (those which i believe are responsible for the magic):

5-HT release and agonism
Dopamine release and agonism
Norepinephrine release and agonism.

Now these 3 factors alone, probably would create some decent empathetic elements, however - the most interesting is the proportions in which they release, some being far higher and some being lower (i'm still half tired, so later i'll update the thread with that information - as posted by nichol).

Based on the chemical structure, this chemical should NOT be classed as an analogue (aside from its possible MDMA-eque effects) by the analogues act - and should therefore be legal. It has no resemblance to an MDxx chemical, it has no resemblance to the Cathinones or other drugs of the phenethylamine class.

I shortly intend to guinea pig these chems, and i have some hope, based on the miniscule amounts of reports - and the scientific data i have read.

Maybe p_d can better fill in the blanks that i am unable to.
 
Very interested in the 5-IAI. wat sort of dosage would one be looking at to have effect?
 
A few threads about 5iai on UK forums etc, even saw one seller on a website and plenty of other websites saying it is comin soon.

would be keen to try it myself if the effects are as reported
 
^ there's a serious amount of vendor bullshit going on in the UK. Most (maybe all) trip reports are from new members who are likely vendors themselves, and the one or two that are legit, haven't as yet proved what the substances actually are.

Quite worrying really. I personally think this is only going to end one way...
 
Looking at it 1-(benzofuran-6-yl)propan-2-amine is MDA with a carbon replacing an oxygen atom in the second ring.

Noooooooo! Why on earth did you make such an obvious thread about these compounds. A friend and myself were discussing these the other day and how they are under the radar at this current time along with the effects of each compound then this pops up on BL!

Now we are likely to see these compounds confiscated as they enter the country.... Thanks to the damn high attention this forum has gotten from LEO and the media it's going to get jumped on sooner rather then later.

Dont import it

Ive been talking to many government departments. This is some of what one of them said about 5-IAI

"The closing of a side chain to form a new ring is a technique used in making drug analogues in past. To my eye the similarity between the methylene dioxy compound and MDA is strong. A case may be made for the iodo compound"

I can assure you authorities in Aus know about these already. FFS, the subjects have been discussed on this board already, 5-IAI for some time. Whatever the LE response is, this thread will do little to impact such decisions. I'll add something on the probable legality shortly. Thread stays, as this topic is of considerable interest to Aussie Bluelighters, and why shouldn't it be?
 
I think with all the new synthetic compounds and analouges coming out, even if they are deemed illegal under aussie law there will be a lag period between the time it is imported and when it is heavily cracked down on.

4mmc is an example. is anyone aware of a prosecution for importing/selling it yet? i have heard of a couple busts but dont know if the cases are closed yet

It starts with keeping a close eye on what's coming out of China and what local and OS vendors are offering. How quick legislation can be put in place remains to be seen, but something is in the wind....
 
well well, good news to awake too.
i am not chemically knowledgable, but this all sounds good to me.
i had some mdma weekend 0r 2 ago, and it was so good alltho weak, like, way weak compared to the 90s.still nice tho.

its funny how kids dont really know about the sweats, the jaw rollin, the insatiable desire to move and dance and relate to everything. and then, i dont know how often i could watch ppl fall in an emotional heap from going so hard for 12-24 hrs off a single or even half a pill. yes they were the days of ex to me. and of course you could find yourself eatin em all week, but hey, live it.

so, with this in mind, it may be interesting what type of rep these chems will get, if they are actually like good strong mdma from years gone by and actually shatter a few 100 kids hearts and minds into real extatic bliss.
cuz, i was watching all the people who had eaten 2 3 or more of these weak pills the other night and sure, they were havin a nice time, but the dance floors completely lack a certain extaticness and fury, and SMILES. my lord, it was like everyone is concentrating so hard to feel what they have taken.

even the lsd kids were wimpin it. .5 or 1 tab.which is fine, and i enjoyed .5 the other day, but kids take .5 in fear, and are scared to redose, like my theory, is strait from uncle tim learys handbook, when its startin to feel good, take a few 100 more mics, and then when that builds, hell, wack some mdma in there, oh baby girl, oooh yeah honey, oooh im feelin ya now girl, aint no worry about that now, naah, no concentration on this little mofos face, only pure bliss.

but hey, maybe im old school, i like to feel my drugs.

so, heres hopin that this little excursion into rc land is more fun.

cuz, im mad up on those 2-c's, especially in combos. oooh yeah. valuable chemicals that mob. i reckon uncle tim wiould have loved em too.

Australia is such a great country in that it is almost impossible to import anything because of tough border control. There is absolutely no way I would be importing a powder from OS in the mail. Do not be the first to get a criminal record for doing such a silly thing.

And just remember, RC's have not had sufficient human trials conducted with them to say with any certainty what the long term effects might be.
