The nang appreciation thread.

I've got a couple of boxes sitting in the cupboard waiting for the right moment.

Nangs are the sort of thing that my friends would look at and think "Why would you do that? Thats scummy!!"

It looks fiendish sucking down balloons or sucking on the end of a bulbinator. LIke bongs are fiendish compared to joints.

Cant wait to try nitrous with mushrooms in a few months (assuming I can find some). Are there any differences that really stand out in the nitrous-mushroom experience compared with nitrous and acid?

It's all subjective and will be different for every individual. For the most part, nangs on LSD will increase the effects without any 'entity contact', you tend to have a sudden increase in visual, auditory and body sensations, which is indeed mind blowing.

When nanging on tryptamine psychedelics, such as mushrooms, you tend to see entity's and all sorts of other crazy shit, even at moderate to low doses. Personally, I think nanging on mushrooms is a level above nanging on LSD.

Wow that sounds awesome but also very full-on. I'll start with a low dose of shrooms and report back my experiences

Even 0.8g of properly dried/stored shrooms can produce some serious nang moments that would equate to those experienced on high doses of 5+g. It is definitely best to start low. You can always have more and re-dosing shrooms isn't as bad as re-dosing LSD. Keep it down around the 1g mark (10g fresh) for starters...

And permit me to add a couple of quick harm reduction tips;
1. A few years ago three people died when using a tank in their car with the windows wound up - the tank leaked and they all suffocated - I think this was in Sydney.
2. Nitrous sold for drag racing/motorsport use is doped with another chemical (I think it's a mercaptan type) which will give you headaches and apparently tastes awful so don't try to use this for a nitrous source.
3. Very obvious but Nitrous is N2O - do not confuse with the deadly nitrogen dioxide NO2 or any of the other nitric oxides as they a poisonous and will give you chemical pneumonia (and subsequent death) even in small quanities.
4. The filter is a great idea but CLEAN YOUR BULBERATOR REGULARLY as well to get rid of the metall shavings/dust that build up inside.

I'll also add DO NOT USE INDUSTRIAL GRADE N20, I have seen this done a few times and it always ends in tears. It usually contains heavy oils used to help lubricate the machinery it is designed to be used in and possibly other dangerous additives. Yet another big nitrous no no...

How deep do people go with nitrous here?

I find I can keep doing them as long as I have bulbs left...but when tripping it's more of a do a small amount and then stop for a while, until I can handle another one.

Interested in going as deep as I can while on mushrooms...any tips?.....any tips?

Do you guys have friends help you out while tripping? I'm pretty uncoordinated without drugs so tripping while taking hits of N20, trying to reload bulbs can be a bit of a nightmare.

When you grow up exploring psychedelics by yourself, in a rural town, that is full of old wives tails, you get pretty damn good at cracking your own bulbs in every state imaginable.

Believe in yourself and you will over come any coordination issues. It's mostly in the mind and if you don't let the drug own you, you can usually keep the bulbs cracking. K holing is a difficult time, but in that case you are usually far enough in to not worry about the gas.

You can go as deep as you want. I rarely do nitrous unless I'm proper intoxicated. It's just a waste of johnny gas...

You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes...

i can cross over to a magical realitywith nossies.

just do em.

close my eyes.

Bang Wicked CEV into another reality (but this is from yrs of nossie abuse thou lol)

and this is just doing nos by it self.

when acid is added :> THERE IS NO LIMITS

I have a question in regards to making the bulbanator that belarki posted up.

I have all the right parts, I was curious as to how any of you, if you followed this design, drilled the hole in the elbow part?

And another question, in the pdf it says to use an epoxy glue to secure the nail in place (as well as the string). I am no engineer or tradie by all means, but could you use a soldering iron?

Cheers

and also, to add another question to that..

If any of you are familiar with that particular pdf, I realised I put the thread tape on the wrong part. I put it on the part that connects the connector with the elbow, not the part that connects the female cap with the connector.
And I still load the canister into the bulbanator and just screw the female cap on instead? assuming this makes sense to anyone...

Cheers again

MilliVanilli, I am not engineer either but I don't see any good reason you couldn't use a solder either. Personally I found the epoxy didn't hold and ended up using a self tapping screw which worked well.

Did you apply the thread tape to the point you cannot undo it? Even if you did I might fork out the few bucks for spare parts and start again. I am sure screwing on the cap could work but it would be a bit awkward in my eyes and worth a few dollars to not have to bother with.

Good luck getting that cracker built, you wont regret the time or money you put into it when you discover the joy of nangs, just remember to take some B12 if you cane it. ;)

I wonder how serious an effect recreational use of nitrous oxide has on the B12 levels of a normal person?

Going off unsourced statements on Wikipedia, the stores that a person with healthy levels of B12 has are sufficient that exposure to nitrous won't deplete it too much. But that exposure can cause subclinical B12 deficiency to start showing symptoms.

If you drink alcohol, consume caffeine and/or smoke cigarettes or use nicotine (the Champagne, Coffee and Cigarettes trifecta) then you may already be somewhat low in B12. I know that's probably what caused me to become deficient.

Has anyone here personally experienced symptoms of B12 deficiency as a result of nitrous oxide use? The links to cases on Wikipedia talk about heavy, chronic use resulting in severe symptoms.

mmmmm I am hesitant to post this but i think its important as most have a view that nitrous use is harmless.

For a period of time i'd end each intensive work day with 12box's of bulbs what a great wind down this went on for about 12 months. after this for a period of approx 6 months I consumed 24 - 120 box's of N2O daily......

Suffered a number of medical setbacks including most notably peripheral neuropathy that was so incredibly painful for a period of time i was on endone to manage the pain, ending up taking lyrica to keep things manageable.

kinda hard to explain but i found this explanation below to make sense.

Imagine when your television isnt tuned in correctly and your using a analogue receiver then imagine your nerve endings sending that fuzzy signal to your brain 24/7. its not acutely painful but when it never stops it tends to send one a bit insane. upon touch you can still differentiate between the fuzzy feeling and actual sense….

Other strange things were tiny ulcers on the tongue and in mouth, small lesions. Only solution to this was Flagyl. If you have never had this drug wish you don't its horrible, but works.

I'll have to dig up the article i read somewhere awhile back about how B12 deficiency from abuse of N2O changes the outer structure nerves which causes the neuropathy, some say its permanent, i have not found this however.

12-18 months later i still have some loss of sensation in my feet but generally i feel i've made a full recovery, other then the financial strain estimated 75k-150k.

Was it fun. Sure. Always enjoyable easy to forget lifes woes when nanging. But after the financial and health implications in hindsight i'd never consider going down that path again.

At first it seems innocuous but certainly if you have a means to afford it things can quickly get out of hand.

Hope this helps someone.

I think this might be what i was referring to, Myeloneuropathy referring to damage to the Myelin sheath surrounding the nerve endings.

http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/myelin_sheath

"Myeloneuropathy after
prolonged exposure to nitrous oxide," _Lancet_ 2:1227) reports a case of
15 people who had been inhaling nitrous oxide for long periods of time
and developed a condition resembling subacture combined degneration of
the cord, whatever that means.
Taken from http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/nitrous/nitrous_health1.shtml

Further more, I received fortnightly B12 injections for 3 months, And was taking 5mg B12 Sublingual tabs for 6 months after the episode.

I tend to believe if i was monitoring B12 during my abuse the repercussions wouldn't not have been so apparent. This however doesnt not mean its ok to abuse N2O if you take B12.

Thanks for sharing, newcomer. :)

That is a lot of nitrous! I can see how it could help to unwind at the end of a long day though.

Good to hear you have recovered now, and hopefully people who read your posts are a bit more aware now of the possible outcomes with heavy use.

I have another question..

I see on a website that you can get both 8g and 16g chargers.. can both these be fitted into that bulbanator, or is it specifically designer to only take one of the sizes?

Cheers

Nanngin is gr8 with weed too. Love listening with headphones blaring and take a charge. Damn addictive/compulsive for me though. Once i get started its hard to stop.
Also done with shrooms a few times, takes me to a bad place though actually watching your fingers melting off and being rained on by blood throws me to close to the edge as i run out on the street and get hit by a car from being on fire.,8o
