The most important lesson psychedelics have taught you

That in the big picture, we are nothing. It can be kind of depressing or very enlightening, depending on how you view the situation.

wow last night while i was tripping on 2c-i i totally thought that and i think just went into a ego loss. i started to laugh hysterically and cry at the same time, i was just like "wow why am i even here, whats the point of anything"

i think it was more depressing though even though i was laughing

That by not taking them I would have missed so much beauty - that everything is connected, there for a reason and that Im part of a much bigger picture.

What an excellent thread... hmmm

1/ That all matter is actually energy... energy that is condensed to a slow vibration. I was able to see and feel this my self in real time so have had direct experience of it. Years later I found this to actually be true when I started studying quantum physics and I was blown away

2/ That we are all ONE conciousness subjectively experiencing it self

3/I did'nt enjoy this lesson at all lol. The one and only time I smoke some 60x extract of salvia (never wanted to repeat it). I learned the true nature of time, it is not linear, like those 'time lines' you learn about in History class at school. No. Instead of a line, imagine it as a dot. Just a dot and nothing else. The truth is that time only exists in the present moment... the past and future do not exist anywhere except in your mind or memory - they are not real. The only moment we have is the one we are directly experiencing right now.

I know this because I went into a dimension that was absent of time.. and it scared the fuck out of me, thought I was going to be stuck in that moment forever lol. Man it was scary at the time. Wish I had someone there to calm me down.

^ Calming down takes time as well ;)

Hehe, but yes, the abstract nature of time is one lesson other psychedelics teach you as well. Salvia has just the most in-your-face way of showing you things, and can be really terrifying. The revelation of reality being only here and now can be an utterly beautiful experience on other psychedelics.

We actually know (well, theorize at least) this to be true scientifically, time is a stationary dimension just like the lower 3 dimensions of space. We only experience it progressing linearly because of our temperature relative to 0 Kelvin -- a peculiar nuance of the laws of thermodynamics.

Holy shit that baffles my mind. Please explain more/link me to explanation. That sounds awesome.

1. We are all one. And I love us. :D
2. The world is beautiful. I see it so much more after doing psychs, and it makes everyday so much better.

I could go on forever, I've learned so much... but those are the big ones. <3

this may sound strange, but one thing psychedelic's helped teach me is that they themsleves dont contain all of lifes answeres. maybe that sounds contradictory but its true.

another important lesson they have taught me is to take advantage of being alive more and also the simple expression that actions speak louder than words and you are what you do

I totally agree with your point grimble crumble. I feel like psychedelics often answer those questions one has with questions of their own in a way. The one thing that definitely sticks out to me is my ability to "go with the flow" as cliche as it sounds.

That there is the stubborn sense of myself which cringes at a remark as cliched as "We are all One", and that this is due to my inability to remain constantly aware of the fact that the amazement of Oneness, as an expression of itself, can only be unspoken, unrealized, and unshared. We are all it, both as parts and as a whole, and it's paradoxical nature as perceived as such causes the up's and down's in the mind of the observer.

"Although the Supersoul appears to be divided, He is never divided. He is situated as one. Although He is the maintainer of every living entity, it is to be understood that He devours and develops all."
- Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 13, Verse 17.

What I learned was, do NOT under any circumstances fuck with the vacuum-cleaner.

...not to take sanity for granted
way way way way too true

that and that we have the wrong idea of time. the future is already set out, we have no control at all over the future, no matter what we do, we have no choice. We have no free will. how did I come to this conclusion? well, take a listen to this

(yes it is almost an our long, but download it, and give it a listen next time you have an hour or so, or next time you are waiting for the lsd to kick in ;)

I agree with you, I'll have to check out this link later tonight.
I think that, when free will is taken at a simple level, that we make choices, it appears to be profoundly confusing and complex but in essence is not up to us. My reasons are only based on personal experience with psychedelics and several years of heavy yogic sadhana practice, so of course any opinion is but a part of the paradox.
As a totality, it is my opinion that reality is programmed entirely to unfold in such a way and that any chance occurence exists only in the mind.
But I am of course open to being wrong lol, these are just the thoughts that have *dawned on me*.

They have taught me, through experience and through discussion, to NEVER underestimate the power of perception. No matter what you see and what you hear, you have to keep calm and logical to discern what is real from what is just the drug. You start panicking, the hole gets deeper and then you start losing it and freaking out.

forgiveness for myself

this is a great one. One of the best capabilites of psychedelic's imo

yes definetily. Ive also read of someone explaining psychedelics like this which I thought was pretty good: "psychedelics dont answere the question they give you different ways of looking at it." simple but true.
