Gabapentinoids The Lyrica (Pregabalin) Mega Thread v 2.0

Ok I too 1100 mg lyrica over a 48 hr period I've had none in 24 I feel fine ( my normal sober) I was wondering if I could take 400 - 600 mg to get high (recreational) or should I wait I don't want to wast my meds... I was also planing on plugging 400-600mg this time

wait a little while, not only do you not want to burn thorough all your meds, you also dont want to smash through your tolerance.

wait up to 48 hours then maybe plug 400mg.
 
Just to add to my experience drink a glass of grapefruit juice with your dose this seems to speed things up you still get the gradual high but faster about 45 min to 1 hr I took 9x50 mg and about 8 oz of grape fruit juice with very satisfying increase in the speed of effects
 
Im am so glad im off this crap, is has a huge tolerance, makes me feel drunk, stupid and articulate less acurate. It is addictive as hell and the withdrawls are the worst of the worst.

Stay away from this unless its for neurotic pains, for epilectic seizures there are safer options, and sure as hell don't go near this stuff when you are an addict.

Describing this for anxiety is straight up stupid stupid stupid!!!!!!!!!!
 
This has been mentioned from time to time, but I still cannot pin-point why this compound causes people to have tremors?

And its quite unpredictable in determining which instances you might experience such tremors. I did however notice that there are patterns which might attribute to such reaction. For instance if I had abstained from taking PGN for an extended period of time (over 2 to 3 months), these tremors will be introduced once you resume. And it happens at small dosages from 75mg to 150mg, therefore it must not be causal to a dose-dependent scenario where careful titration is involved. Some people are more susceptible to these than others.

These tremors can be described to be similar to, but to a lesser extent, the muscle contractions from Parkinson's disease. It's quite a conundrum, and even contradictory if you use it for anxiolysis.

Anyone care to explain?
 
I've been taking Lyrica for nearly two months. I'm currently taking 300mg per day, due to increase to 600mg. It's made my eyes blurry and my speech slurred, like I'm a little drunk. It's also made my legs a little jelly-like and my balance has gone to pot - not to mention my short-term memory has suffered. But it possesses a curious cotton wooliness that I enjoy. I must add: I take trazodone before bed, for sleep, and combined with the Lyrica, gives me these crazy closed-eye visuals...like fireworks of light and images flashing in quick succession. Today, I'm due to visit my doc to have the dose upped. I'm looking forward to how it's going to make me feel.

I also get these visuals. It's like taking a low dose of ketamine right before bed. It's great actually but I wake up with tired/sore eyes as if my eyes had kept watching the images all night long without any rest.

Yea I can't believe how horrendous the withdrawals are from a pill that seems so mellow. I would have expected some tiredness/lethargy and minor anxiety but it's like taking the physical part of heroin withdrawal, mixing it with the anxiety of benzo withdrawal and adding the long lasting depression/dissociation from ketamine withdrawal all rolled into one awful mess. It also lasts forever. I gave up after 19 months of pure agony.

Crikey!!

I must say: one of the things I love about lyrica is its ability to play with memory. My short-term memory has gone to pieces but I'm having these colourful, almost spiritual, childhood flashbacks. I could be walking along and a smell, a sight, anything, could trigger a flashback. I can almost hear the laugh of children, the merry chirrup of birds, the smell of freshly cut grass during Summertime, and the smell of the strawberry ice lolly. Its psychedelic.

I'm not sure how long this will last.

Was wondering why you'd still up the dosage, but obviously you are still in pain.

High dose Lyrica is mostly pretty nice if you have nothing else to do. At some point I want to get off it completely, as I can't have the memory problems.
Still, it's way better as being in a lot of pain all the time.

From what I read, this should be because Lyrica binds to voltage dependent calcium-channels, at least to some subunits of them. These (or at least some of them) are in the membrane of Purkinje cells. These cells are in the cerebellum and involved in motor function. So I guess if you start the treatment, these are a little off but will synchronize again after some time. Purkinje cells seem also to be involved in the pathogenesis of essential tremor.
I have tremor without any treatment, but I also noticed that Lyrica gave it a boost in the beginning. It's the same when I up the dose for a buzz.
 
My doctor gave me Lyrica a couple weeks ago, for fibromyalgia pain and for insomnia. Well, I haven't been taking it everyday as I should.

First time I took 300mg with opiates. It gave me a strong buzz but it lasted only for maybe 2 minutes and then it was gone. What the hell. Nothing special after that.
Second time I took 500mg, two hours later 200mg more so 700mg altogether. It was nice, okay. When I closed my eyes I saw some visuals. Music felt good. My balance was a little off. Typing was hard.
Third time I took 900mg. Again, it was okay. I liked to listen to some calm, classical music and lie in my bed.
Fourth time, today, I took first 500mg, hour later 200mg, then hour later 300mg so altogether 1g. I feel nothing special. Kinda pisses me off. I'm going to try adding 150mg more.

What's the "lethal dose" of Lyrica? I read the whole thread and some people were speaking of that some had died because of Lyrica.
 
ITs suggested that 600mg is the largest dose at any one time. Its hard on your kidneys. But the lethal dose is very high, so I wouldnt really worry about OD BUT, doses like 900mg a go kills your tolerence. ITs a great drug for neuropathic pain, anxiety, and many other things, and yes it can be recreational but I wouldn't abuse it (like I do) because one day you might need it and it wont work.

A strong buzz that lasted two minutes? What the fuck? Everyone is different but one thing generally noted about Lyrica is the lasting duration.

I don't think you will get much more out of it. Music enhancement, mild social lubricant and a mellow drunk feeling, that's lyrica to me at least. It's not a strong drug in terms of recreational effects. Go mix it with ketamine if you want to have fun :)

Also recreational doses will ruin the pain relief relatively fast and then you are fucked because the tolerance never goes down.

it does if you abstain for 48 hours, 72 or even longer. But at LEAST 48 hours and you are feeling pretty much the same effects. However, I know that if you take it regularly for pain, gad etc then that cant be done.
