Yes. And the rabbit hole goes much deeper. Granted theres no opioid alkaloids in cats claw, but theres a diverse group of indolic alkaloids in cats claw, kratom, and several other plants that have evolutionary links/heredity to one an other.

The tropics hold so much potential for undiscovered alkaloids, and often times, the plants discovered can be traced back to common ancestors, thus explaining some of the same alkaloids showing up in each other.

But cats claw is no opioid like kratom, it does share some of the same oxindole alkaloids though, along with other plants besides those two. The tropics are full of surprises in terms of phytochemicals, and theres no lack of exotic and complex indoles already found, and waiting to be discovered.

Lets hope we get to them, before razing of the land for monoculture and livestock production wipes these valuable undiscovered plants into extinction, driven by the wests sadistic and orwellian approach to food production, the "green revolution". Green in that its going to end in us all having to fight for soylent green rations.

Unless the w/d mediation is taking place through ndma antagonism, or calcium channel blockage, i doubt. I think its the opoid activity of mitragainine (however the fuck you spell it lol), and 7-ho-mitragainine that makes it useful for w/d's, as thats the receptor downregulated by opiate abuse.
 
Took ~4gs of Kratom yesterday evening, approx. 2h later ~1mg Melatonin, as i woke up during the night (roughly 4hrs after kratom administration) i was very sedated/buzzed, almost a bit too much if you ask me, but who knows? Perhaps just coincidence...?
 
^^Could just be a build up of seratonin. It won't keep happening. I used to take 10 mg melatonin at night when I was taking lots more kratom than you just described, and it did help knock me out for the whole night, for a while. But melatonin (don't know why) stops working after a while. You need breaks from it.
 
Nope I haven't looked through the whole thread yet, just posting before I get to it--what about taking kratom WiTH Fentanyl? Prescribed, worn as patch, no desire to attempt abuse, etc. Only looking for pain relief here, not necessarily a high. Just starting to dig in on finding out if this is a possibility. Thanks for your time!
 
So what type of kratom feels like oxy?
My choices from a vendor I found (which from other forums proves to be a good choice) are

Red Thai
Maeng da
Super premium bali/Indonesian import
Ultra enhanced Thai essence

Never used this shit before but when my debit card gets reloaded next Thursday imma give it a go

edit: i UTFSE and found that maeng da sounds pretty fucking bomb. im sold up until one more thing. how discreet is the packaging, as in labeling of the envelope? my sister is a recovering opiate addict/raging alcoholic and has a year clean. i dont want her to be like wtf is this? or better yet why the fuck are you getting that shit shipped to my house? so yeah i need a little bit of help

Kratom Legality

In a few days I'll be withdrawing off 2mg a day of Suboxone after 3 years of being on it, I have 2mg left which will hopefully last me at least two days. I've read into Kratom and have been really looking forward to trying it. I've looked around at all the local smoke shops around here and none of them sell Kratom, one of them even got nervous and was acting as if it's illegal, but his English wasn't very good and maybe he just didn't know what I was talking about.

I live in Florida and have never heard anything about Kratom being illegal here, but I want to order some online and have an irrational paranoia that if I order some online then the DEA will show up at my door when I get the package, I know it's stupid. Can anyone who is knowledgeable about this subject put my mind to ease? I tried searching on google but couldn't find anything specifically regarding its legality in Central Florida. Thanks, and sorry if this thread might not belong here, I wasn't sure what was the best sub-forum to post it in.

Edit: I'm sorry, I just now noticed the Kratom megathread, I guess I should have put this in there. :o

It is currently unregulated in the US. So yes it is legal.. However, there has been a lot of talk about it and the banning of it both on a state and federal level. However, to my knowledge, no state has currently made it illegal. I'll move this to the mega thread.

Any word on how effective taking Zofran (aka Ondansetron ) would be for the nausea of high kratom doses? I've heard of the experience actually being better after combining the two (i.e. stronger effects from less kratom)

Honestly smokemctoke, only you can tell us which feels similar to oxy, because all vendors are different. Also how much tolerance do you have to opiates? and a final notes, the packaging should be discreet enough if your vendor is legit.
 
Can someone tell me the recommended first-time dosage when using extract? I'm going to a smoke shop tomorrow to try this stuff as I'll be detoxing from Suboxone while having to work for the next three days, including two days graveyard shift. They said they have the extract but I don't know whether or not they have the leaf, if they do then I will get the leaf since that's what most people on here are recommending.

Hopefully I'll be able to try it out without spending more than twenty bucks, and it will work well and quell my withdrawals, that's my hope. I know that the local smoke shop will charge a substantial amount more than online vendors, but ordering it online right now doesn't help me with my work situation.

don't bother with a smoke shop unless they have a solid supplier and always import fresh kratom and extract it's likely to be completely useless.

starting dose for an extract depends on the strength of the extract and what kind of extract it is as well
