The H*ve

if you want to believe it feel free. but i just ran a search in the staff forum for both 'hive' and rhodium;' rhodium returns no results and hive only unrelated ones.

Considering the word "hive" was taboo i'm not surprised your search came up empty. BTW you too were featured in that thread and didn't bother to set the record straight then, so why now?

also, c6h6, im sure there are*many h@ves ;)

i wasn't aware then. the adress being added to the list of banned words was apparently a result of the same erroneous info.

feel free to continue being a stubborn fool. as has been posted already in this thread, no hive mod nor admin has asked that there be a referral ban. it appears that none of them had even heard of such an idea. ask any of them yourself.

i could go through the entire story of how the ban came about in the first place, but it's idle gossip. it was the figment of someone's overactive imagination. it didn't happen.

:)

the person in question was not a hive moderator. as has been posted, none of them even knew of such a rule. i'm also not sure they cared.

it's kind of a moot point now, anyway.

I read on [edit: don't try and be slick and slip that in, ok? next time = warning.] that a serial clandestine chemist got locked away in England. I cant find out where the link is now but it was some pretty heavy offenses. 14g pure LSD was recovered along with 40000 pounds in labware/chemicals. It did cross my mind that the person whom got arrested could have been Rhodium. Chances are that it isn't but it has just been awfully quiet since the collapse of the hive.

rhodium's archive is not available anymore on archive.org..

Oh.. yes... PDFs.. There thing said that they archieved the whole site... obviously not.

A more complete archive of Rhodium's site is available here:
http://designer-drugs.com/pte/12.162.180.114/dcd/chemistry/rhodiummirror.html

I've told erowid about this so they could fix their links... once they get around to it.

I miss the Hive too... but the biggest danger of somebody reading boastful stories of clandestine synthesis is that the naieve may get the idea that its as easy as it sounds (it most certainly is not) to obtain obscure reagents and equipment without detection, then painstakingly process them into a desired compound, then purify that compound into something edible. Sadly, if somebody just followed the steps of a "recipe", they'd be in jail long before they finished. Things have CHANGED since all of the recipes were written. Clandestine chemistry is not a feasible hobby... today only the obsessed are capable enough to remain free.

For all you 'dreamers' out there just check WD and Synthetikal for updates on the h1ve.

nice to see you here VE, its been a few years since I've visited this place, good to see familiar faces, anyway the hive's been gone for what 7 or 8 months now, its funny how its still such a popular subject

Synthetikal has gone down. I read about it here on sciencemadness. Check post by 'solo' (19-07-05).

Another point worth mentioning is that Synthetikal also hosted a great collection of e-books, many of which were once available through the hive. I don't know how long this will last, but you can get a list of what's still available (some links dead) here

too many users :-/

However... That rhodium archive seems like a nice thing to hold on to... *making backup of entire directory now*
