OK, lets talk pedals. :D

I just got a good deal on an Ibanez flanger on ebay. Still waiting for it to arrive, but it seems like it's gonna be awesome. :)

I'm also pretty tempted to get my hands on one of these. Anyone have one?. :D

I've kinda decided to sell most of the pedals I own and just get a few nicer ones instead. :)

I've been playing guitar for about five years now. Never taken a lesson, everything I know is self-taught. I'm not much for technicality, so most of my focus is on composition rather than learning to play other peoples' songs. Anyway, my electric set-up looks like this:

A blue Mexi-Fender Telecaster:

Through an Orange AD30 combo amp:

And while I don't really have a pedal board per se, I do have a nice collection of pedals:

And my pride and joy:

I recently bought my first acoustic guitar, so I've been playing on that constantly for the past few months. It's nothing special, a $300 Yamaha FG730S, but it has exceeded my expectations in almost every way (after a quick truss rod adjustment to lower the action):

How do you like the Orange amp? I`d love to get one for myself but seeing as how I`m mainly a bass player what Orange offers in combo bass amps(like the bass pix series) are just too under powered for anything but bedroom alone time.
I`d love to get a Bass Terror head though. 500 watts is plenty good for me.

It's served me very well as a bedroom practice amp, but I think I'm kinda over it. It's tone has slowly degraded over the years (I bought it used, anyway) and it doesn't have the kind of warmness that I'm looking for. I love Orange amps though. I think my next purchase amp will be a Tiny Terror head with whatever reasonably priced cabinet that I can find. Although, I really want a little 5w Vox or Fender tube amp until the time comes that I can afford something bigger.

I don't really gear my purchases to be stage-ready since the only performing I do is in front of a mirror or my laptop's built-in microphone. :\

Still waiting for that damn flanger to arrive. I'm starting to get a bit annoyed. :X

But in other news, I just impulsively bought one of these babies.

^^How does that voodoo lab sound tribal girl?

I have been so caught up learning smooth jazz(laugh all you want but it is a challange and is fun) my rock riffs are hurtin atm. I was jamming with my brother and I kept adding to many sub's where they don't belong. I need to start listening/playing easier stuff so that I lose the "fun" of playing.

Howdy. :D

I dunno, I literally just ordered it from ebay. But I always listen to demos on youtube before buying anything so.

I'm not laughing at your smooth jazz skills, honestly. In fact, I was thinking of learning some jazz guitar myself. You see, I've been playing simple stuff for way too long, and now I feel I wanna challenge myself a bit. :)

Yeah don't start learning Wes(at least not his 50's material). Learn lessons from Larry Coryell online. He plays both smooth and bop/bebop/whatever you want to call it. He is great at helping you substitute in places you didn't even know before. He teaches you all of the clever ways of inserting diminished 9ths in melodies already familiar. I made a smooth jazz version of fly like an eagle(steve miller I think) in all blocks and it fun to play!

Yo if you want to learn jazz learn from Ed Byrne. He's kinda revolutionary in that he goes against the Chord Scale Theory model of teaching jazz where every chord has an assigned mode or scale. He thinks in terms of guide tones and melody rather than trying to arbitrarily assign a mode to every single chord.
So basically the melody and intervals are more important than the chords themselves.

Anywho that Larry Coryell guy plays great and definitely knows his stuff so you can learn some great stuff from him too. Ed Byrne is like the top tier though, he's currently tutoring professors of Berklee and Juliard and stuff like that, just so you know who you're dealing with. Maybe get some prerecs down before trying to tackle his stuff.
EDIT: The more videos of Larry Coryell I watch the more I like him. He's so calm and in control of all these complex movements.

What is the blue LP-shaped guitar? The cut looks a little sharp for a Epiphone or Gibson.

Nice strat, though. I've got a soft spot for the white ones.
