Wishing I was craving something as wholesome as Chicken strips!
Apparently today is fail Friday..the day everything we gave up for new year resolution becomes a distant memory!

The steroid suppositories I was given last week were effective for about 3 days before they gave up so now I'm on prednisolone (?) which is apparently the top level one. Better hope this works then. Posting in the pain thread because my prednisolone is prescribed in the form of a foam enema with a little can. It's designed to give just the right dose to the colon of ulcerative colitis patients. My j pouch is a out 1/6th of the size, the pressure when that thing goes off up my arse is quite something. My surgeon said "just try to keep some of it inside you". Heh.

Twice a day :(

I have to take 20 pills a day of that Prednisolone steroid for 4 days after each chemotherapy session.
They work really well for me at keeping nausea at bay but they don't half give me one hell of an appetite.
I could eat all day on them & when I wake up in the mornings my stomach feels like it hasn't had any food in it for a week.
I hope that they do the job for you also.

I've had cervical disc surgery (ACDF) -- believe it or not, injuries caused by decades of guitar showboating. Regardless, the surgeries caused nerve damage, now I'm on an Oxy/Norco regimen. Running out can be quite brutal.
Anyone know a way to keep my legs from twitching all nite?

You may get some suggestions in the Healthy Living forum section as well as here. Off the top of my head have a look into magnesium supplement for the twitching..can't hurt if you try it anyway...

fucks sake i rubbed something that stung like a MF into my eyes last nioght, bloodshot to fuck, intense pain, i rubbed my eyes with the 'heels' of my plams, they must have had some substance on them, nicotine juice, etaqualone, cannabinoids, fuck knows, it stung worse than anything in my eyes ever before though. Fortunately I still had a jar of optrex as i can get bad hayfever in the grass pollen season. That did the trick thank fuck. Might have had to go to hospital, if just water didnt work. Thank fuck for optrex, gonna have to get more now.

I do apologse I meant Co-codamol (maybe it was wishful thinking for the old good stuff).

You mean the extra seven - count 'em seven!!! - mg of codeine per pill in co-proximal? Surely nobody's tolerance is so low as to be able to tell the difference between 8mg of codeine and 15mg is it? I never saw the point of making assorted mixed pills with such tiny variations in codeine content. Can only presume it's from when they were still under patent so mamimise profits for minimal difference.

That aside, hope your wee-wee woes are considerably less woeful <3

I would feel a bit of a fraud for even mentioning this given some of the stuff y'all are going through, but given this thread is for minor as well as major pain, I somehow managed to pour boiling water onto my left index finger. Thing with really hot fluids is you tend to not notice (I once immersed all four fingers (and a bit of thumb) on my right hand up to just between the second and third knuckle in boiling deep fat whilst making doughnuts for the first time - it didn't hurt a bit... then it did... a lot 8o) initially so got fairly well simmered. Hopefully I got it under the cold tap quick enough to stop it blistering cos fingers are not good places for blisters :!

Are you one of those people that doesnt wash their hands after going for a shite

Yep, you're bang on.

Wasn't it supposedly causing strokes? I managed to snag a couple of hundred before it was disco'ed because the girl didn't want them anymore.

Weird drug. Reminded me of very low dose tramadol.

I give up then. I'm know I've had a few different co-xxx painkillers that all seemed much of a muchness but it would've been 20-odd years ago when I was scripted 'em so memory may well not serve :o

I've had the three mentioned anyway and don't recall noticing much difference between 'em but I was using them "as directed" at the time cos I didn't know about CWEs and had access to as much codeine phosphate and DHC as I wanted anyway at the time.

Can't remember what the reason was mate - but I'd be willing to bet that the paracetamol caused/causes more health problems than the propoxythene ever did! Yeh, they were a bit tramadoly, but they helped me with minor wd's a few times.

Heard a thing on the news recently that they're gonna be restricing paracetamol content in pills in the US to a max of 375mg per tablet. Anyone who's spent time reading OD threads knows exactly why - folk over there seem to absolutely refuse to do CWEs (cos "you lose all the opioids and it doesn't get rid of the APAP (paracetamol) anyway so what's the point?" 8)). The amount of times I've pointed out to somebody that snorting (or eating for that matter but snorting seems most prevalent) several grammes of paracetamol at once (I've seen folk who are consuming 30+ grammes of paracetamol per day 8() is just a horrible idea in more way than I can count. Paracetamol is fukkin dangerous stuff. Waaaaaaaaaaaaay more dangerous than opiates or any of the other OTC painkillers I can think of. Aspirin and ibuprofen will give you the gutache from hell but you probably won't die. Paracetamol really screws you even if you don't actually die - not a liver's best friend ;)

Yeh, it never ceases to amaze me how paracetamol is dished out to all & sundry with reckless abandon. Aside from it being extremely hepatotoxic, it's a fuckin shite painkiller! I find ibuprofen to be more effective for just about any pain than paracetamol, plus you can pretty much eat 'em like sweets (though I did hear recently that ibuprofen can cause heart problems).

As an aside, I recently had minor surgery to remove a hideous carbuncle which I've had on my index finger for the last 20 odd years. I wasn't expecting to actually get any takes homes after it, but figured that if I did, it would be some poxy 8/500 cocodamols. Imagine my surprise when the nurse handed me two boxes - one containing the ubiquitous 32 x 500mg paracetamol, the other containing 28 x 30mg codeine phosphate =D Needless to say they didn't last long at all - while the paracetamol are still sitting in my cupboard untouched. My surprise was even greater considering I'd declared my methadone script before the op, so the last thing I was expecting was some straight codeine.
