Yeah but everybody has got problems. Just because others have 'worse' issues doesnt mean you have to bottle all your feelings up.

With something like drug addiction be glad you are trying to sort your shit out early, yes people are in worse situations but you want to do all you can to not end up in a really shit place.

Aye Max didn't realise you were going through chemo. Wish you all the best! <3

Thanks for your kind words everyone.
@RoganJ Picc line was put in without any trouble or pain and has made life so much easier for giving blood tests and for chemo drips etc.
Treatment is going well so far. Had to have a few unplanned days in hospital due to white blood cell count dropping too low but antibiotics sorted that out so all good now.
Hair come out with gentle tug but gonna get my clippers out soon and have my usual skinhead cut.
Pain wise I haven't really had anything to complain about not like some of the folk in this thread so I've got it easy compared to others.
Whenever I see little kids on TV with cancer or serious illnesses who have had loads of operations etc but can still smile & laugh about things it makes you think how can I moan about things when those kids are so brave.

Really pleased to hear that mate. This'll all be behind you in no time at all :)

Freedom! Discharged thanks to the excellent mesalazine suppositories working their magic and making me feel almost normal again within 24 hours. Gotta keep taking them for a week and then see what happens when I stop. Going to be a lot more careful with my diet and things that might cause irritation and inflammation from now on too. Not looking forward to that, I've never had to watch what I eat and it seems like a right chore :(

I wish you all my best, Max, we've never spoken but when I first read of your news: I was absolutely gob-smacked.
Keep fighting, we're all behind you. :)

Excellent news RoganJ mate, you must be well chuffed.

Yep, signed off for a week too despite being in better shape than since about August! Work are sorting me out with a laptop though so I'll go and pick that up at some point so I can do some bits and pieces later in the week if I feel like it.

waiting 4 a Fatality

i just phoned up the RUH pAIN CLINIC WHO I'M due to see in April .

THE receptionct ws a vry nice woman n i seem have struck up a rapport with her .

We spoke in last nov. when i was 1st referred . She instantly remebered me n was very help ful
#
Thing is she ain't making any decisions but it has made me feel positive .

Their web page is also excellent so i'm clued uo on what they offer . My Gp has written a letter that carries weight & my pharmacist n psych drug worker all think i should be treated with a sustained release opiate instead of a using methadone as a bass pain killer .

The nice woman on reception said that if i can make it after 19;oohrs
i will 99% get a appt soon .
this is cos its the palliative slot n to be blunt someone will die

RG , max n , shm n any1 really suffering u make my condition look minor n i feel a bit of a pussy tbh .

Things are relative i suppose also mine is self inflicted 2 a degree but that is a dif illness .

i am not psychotic 2day . if that bloody tan pv was even a bit stronger than the stuff i had i dread 2 thik what i would be like on it with that self destructive thing i do every so often .

Think my cannula site from my hospital visit at the weekend is infected :( It's been painful since they took it out on Sunday, but now my arm really hurts to straighten (almost impossible now) and there are a couple of pea sized lumps under the skin. It's looking less red than it was though.

Is this really dangerous? I don't feel especially feverish, but I don't want to wake up in the night dead from septicaemia... :/ I've got a nurse screening with my new GP tomorrow afternoon so I can show her then. Don't really want to present at A&E for the second time in under a week. It gets boring!

Google says PHONE YOUR WARD!

Google says PHONE YOUR WARD!

Thing is, my ward is 200 miles away (I was having treatment at the hospital where I had my surgeries this weekend, not where I live) so if they tell me to pop in its a bit inconvenient.

Anyway, I survived the night and it's a little less painful today. I'll get it checked out later anyhow.

Following surgery they have given me enough Tramadol to kill a horse. I am that horse...oh god. I am fucking miserable I am catherterised. I am soul destroyed and demented with boredom and pain.

Then my alcoholic mother (who I have seen 6 times in 17 years/her choice) decides to start sending me incoherent and incomplete random drunken texts blaming me for my parents divorce 17 FUCKING YEARS AGO.

I am incandescent with blinding rage and pain and the Tramadol and coproxamaol not fucking touching it and I just want a line or two and a drink and cigarette-all of which I have given up for this fucking operation.

OK I feel better for my mini rant and those in real pain I truly hope it eases. And breathe.....

Sorry to hear you're in pain. Tramadol was always fairly effective for me but had some weird psychological side effects and also stopped me being able to pee properly. What was the surgery and was the catheter inserted during the op? I think if it's more than a couple of hours they always catheterise regardless, but it should be taken out soon. But check the Tramadol isn't causing you issues peeing before they remove it, you don't want to have it put back in! I've not been unlucky enough to need that yet...

Hey there! Catheter in for another 2 weeks. It was fairly rare and complex 4 hour surgery on my wee pipe. I have to say it is soul destroying and completely hideous carrying a bag of pee around the house. God forbid going out. While not vain as such I have to say I have never felt as dejected and unatractive as I do right now.

I had an ostomy for over 12 months and was nervous about going out to start with - mine was a bag of runny poo and it did have a tendency to leak at times. But I developed a kit bag and strategies for doing emergency repairs and changes and soon realised that actually, nobody could tell I was wearing the bag (unless I told them, I was never really shy about taking about my issues heh). I'd recommend getting out the house for a little bit if you feel you can, there's nothing more depressing than sitting around at home killing time with nothing to do, it'll drive you insane! Hoe you feel better soon mate :)

Feel silly and pathetic for whinging just been reading back posts. Big positive waves emanating from me to you all.
