I can't quote or edit either, I guess it's been reported.

inflorescence, don't feel pathetic man, having a catheter in fucking sucks. In fact the only thing I've had which is worse is an NG tube (in through your nose to your stomach). Even my 8" infected lapro wound which opened up when the staples removed was less shitty than a cath.

You'll feel fucking great when it's taken out man. Apart from the first pee, that stings a bit ;)

Nursey says my arm is probably just phlebitis not septicaemia :p

Been out and about a bit today, went in to work to pick up a laptop ("in case you get bored" heh) and to finish registering with a GP up here. Would love to say the steroids have kept the inflammation at bay and I've been pain free but sadly not the case, although nothing like what I was experiencing the last couple of weeks. Worries me a bit, not sure what my options are going to be long term with this... :(

I do apologse I meant Co-codamol (maybe it was wishful thinking for the old good stuff). Sorry not quite in the right frame of mine and unfortunately not in a good way sigh. I have had this bloody catheter for a week and have just over two weeks to go. Pain less today after op today so not quite as crazed.
Not much pinging going on more lounging, atrophying and planning.

Thanks all. It's a necessary end (hopefully) to a problem I have had for about 7 years which was repeatedly misdiagnosed. I am keeping that in mind and trying to get a grip!
Having serious problems still with the new BL, can't seem to quote etc. I would be love hearting and smiley facing you all now if it would allow!

Hope you are all feeling a bit better too. It is worrying though as I seemed to have built up a huge tolerance to the Tramadol in just over a week!

Try to use the opiate painkillers when the pain is really bad n use iboprufen /paracetamol / naproxen other time. I'm on 12 mg suboxone due to codeine addiction it's no joke as most seem to think. I had an L5/S1 disc herniation that's all. You need to take care n treat the meds with respect. Sorry not meaning to sound preachy its just that doctors don't tell you this they say something like "take as prescribe." I only started with 60mg codeine. I'm not trying to put you off taking opiate painkillers it's just you said yourself your tolerance has gone up quick n that's how these things start.

Evey x

Am I the only one who was comfortable with a bag of warm piss up against my leg? I did MDMA with my catheter attached and was constantly amazed at it filling up seemingly every 5 mins.

Yeah, probably. Though I'll agree on the pain of (more than) the first piss after removal.

When I did my first piss after I had my first catheter out I said:
"Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"
for approximately the entire duration of the piss. Then I had a lie down.

Never nice after you come to from a seizure and after about 15 -25 mins gaining enough sense that you realise you have pissed yourself. Cus there is no warmness left!

At least I have never shat myself :-D

Oh christ so I have the first post catheter removal piss to look forward to. Eekkk!

Second night I fell asleep with leg bag and woke up in agony as I thought that nice warm lump stuck to my leg was the cat-and kicked it away and wrenched the bloody thing..owwwwww. The thought of doing any gear of any kind is just not happening. Already having freaky dreams about foreign bodies inside me!!

"Yes stone... It wasn't very nice trying to toss n turn with a big bag of red urine after giving birth. "

Then why on earth did you keep it strapped to your leg at night? I hung mine on a....hanging thing placed next to the bed.

When I had it removed, pissing didnt hurt. BUT first time I had one, just for an op and they removed it straightaway so I didn't even know I had had one....oh boy was that fun pissing for the next 2 days, let alone the first piss. And bear in mind I didn't even know why this was happening because no cnut told me they'd even inserted a catheter (until weeks later at my follow-up).

Oh, just remembered. 2nd catheter didn't hurt because it was directly into my bladder, avoiding my dick. First one obviously went straight into my dick...those ones hurt. No idea how they do your lady bits ones.

They are fucking clueless some of these alleged specialists..they told me to keep the leg bag on at night and extend it to the big bag also-the clippy plastic wee easel thing (now known as the Wee-sal, yep I have lost the plot). Soon got wise to how ridiculous that is and just did overnight big pee bag attachment.

I have been crying in fucking agony with the damn thing today-spasms and can feel flow of wee etc. The surgery was a walk in the park compared to this. It is obviously is pretty unpleasant for both sexes. I think there is more risk of infection for us women though as everything so close together.
The urge for a fag and a drink and a couple of lines of coke (shit as it mostly is these days) is not getting any less. I spent my last recoup after last big surgery soem years ago nicely dosed up on several g's a day! An expense recoup but much more fun-oh stupidity of youth I miss you.

I always crave chicken strips when |I see this thread. I've got a dodgy doggy knee. (the knee the dog pulled me onto 3 years ago!) even had it scanned last year they see nout wrong but it keeps playing up.
