Tis a strange one with MST, seems quite difficult to get a script, especially for the IR but it's relatively easy to get hold of illegitimately. AFAIK you are best to soak crushes ER tabs overnight, I've done so in the past on occasion to good effect.

I won't touch NSIADs these days, I had a bleed a couple of years back which spooked me a bit it wasn't related to NSIADs but I've avoided them just the same.

My docs pretty good for scripts to be fair, mostly will just do a quick chat on the phone as he knows I find it difficult in more than one way to get into the surgery. Doctors receptionists are an evil breed, Mrs23 deals with them for me, I can't be doing with them.

MSTs I usually get are the Zomorph caps. From entirely legitimate places... well... massively overscripted patients anyway :D

Pain meds are odd on the NHS. Virtually impossible to get owt worth a wank until you somehow do get summat worth a wank after which time they throw strong opies atcha like they're going outta fashion. Tis odd. And kinda annoying. But very handy for those of us that are in the former position but know folk in the latter. Fella I know doesn't ever even bother with the MSTs he's scripted since they "forced" him up to oxy 80s too even though he was telling them that 20s were too much along with all the fent and stuff he's also scripted. Is like some freaky fantasy world how nutso scripting gets once you're deemed "legit" :D

Wcote: I'd just make an emergency appointment and get it sorted. Obviously it's gonna depend on yer doc as to how successfully sorted it's gonna get though :\

The medical profession, IME do have an odd view of drug users, they seem to think that if they don't script you stuff then you won't be taking anything.

I fail to get this logic....drug user = someone who knows how to obtain drugs

My drug abuse has nothing to do with what I get scripted and never has, I'd bet that the majority of people who get into trouble with scripted (their script;)) drugs are not illegal drug users.

As I've said the doc I have at the moment is OK and doesn't treat me like a 'drug seeker' but I've faced many that do, and a good few more that don't seem to have much inn the way on concern over the level of pain I've been in. Like when they pulled the IV morph 12hrs after they operated on my leg, could have let me have one more decent nights sleep8)

I'd definitely go for an emergency appointment Wcote, if the receptionist asks what for (mine has tried this on) don't tell them, nosey parkers that they are. They pretty much have to fit you in within 24hrs.

Mostly this. Haven't abused me script in a dog's age. Have mostly been scripted consistenly over the last 20-odd years but never enough/proper stuffs to make me not require "top-ups". Have reeled in my more abusive tendencies massively these last few years. Barely touch me benzo script these days. Emergencis and contingencies only really. Opi's are more of an issue with me as I genuinely do seem to need 'em for pain so has been hard since coming off of me longterm 'done script and then fukkin off me subbiez script far too soon. Thought it'd show good will but meant fuck all apparently. Took me years to convince docs (and also pharmacists here since they tend to stick their beak in) that I don't take the piss with the dregs I get scripted.

"Back in the day" there was no intrawebz to look up the effects of drugs so frankly rarely knew what it was that I was ab/using. Just happened to work out in hindsight that it was always opies. Self-medication straight up all the way. I probably fukked up by letting on too much along that way but hopefully am finally shaking the stigma... Hopefully... :|

Wasted all my credit trying to ring health center, fuck sake. So text to my gf and she will ring them, she is not impressed, but was waiting 25 mins and got nothing. Fucking stressed, have loan repayment due as well. Got fuck all sleep my back was painful last night.

Not a fun Monday.

A different type of pain but valid still.

Phoning up all the people that want cash like-

Water
Elecy
Heating
Tv License
BroadBand
Council Tax .

It's painful especially in the Neck area . Honestly .

Might see about some acupuncture which i think is a valid therapy . I don't know that much about it but i think it's well worth a look especially for back pain .
Don't knock it till you have tried it & be open minded it might work for you .
Most DRug Services should be able to find or offer it for free. It's damn expensive privately .

My mate had acupuncture needles put on his ears when he wanted to come off gear a few years back at our local DSP.
He said it made him feel more chilled out, whether it was just placebo effect or not I don't know.
When he left they put two tiny little magnets where the needles had been which supposedly helped also.
Worth a try anyway mate.

If it's done properly it is effective .

Problem is it takes years of training not just a 6 week course.

Because their are so many under qualified people practising a skilled art it is not represented very well. I'm not one to go for this type of thing as you know but after having some sessions with a guy that has been practising all over the world i'm quite sold on it .
I can see why well off folk pay the money for it .

That's what I always say. Illegal drug users don't need to go through a doctor to get drugs so why would they bother?
Something that most doctors fail to grasp unfortunately 8)

My Dr phoned, getting new script, she is v nice.

Ahhh that's made my mood better! Now the debt fuckers, but got the money so should be no probs.

Back hurts mind.

Quick advice for anyone taking amitriptyline for pain, be careful of side effects. I just took myself off after two months or so at 20mg/night and it feels like being woken up from a horrible dream. Had this insidious, creeping depression coming on over the past few weeks and couldn't really figure out why until it dawned on me, 24 hours off and I'm in a lot more pain but far better than feeling like everything is pointless.

I just don't agree with anything labelled 'antidepressant' they seem to have the opposite effect. Citalopram sent me loopy years ago too, ugh. I've read this drug called Nortriptyline could have similar pain effect as Ami without the serotonergic effects, anyone tried it?

Not a bad week so far, had to give in and order some Oxys. Still can't walk properly , but I can brush my teeth/hair again and my clothes are not causing me the same amount of discomfort.

After a week without any MST I had to give in an get another script, at least the stopping and starting is keeping my tolerance low but I really need to go to see my doc as I'm not convinced MST is the best solution. I find it quite sedating and it generally makes me feel a bit 'orrible even at the relatively low doses I take.

I want to avoid any AD type stuff, so Tram and Amiltrip are off the cards and co-cos are useless, my pain stems from a nasty leg injury I sustained nearly a year ago in a bike crash.

Any suggestions on better meds I could suggest to my doc ?
