dream n reality
lucid dream

...

when you are in a dream, and you realize that you are in a dream, then you start a lucid dream

to me, i often feel that life, normal reality, is a dream
a dream that i should be able to wake up from, or something
like a testing ground

I'm going to this tonight:
Lammas Feast and Ritual
Saturday, August 2, 2014 6-9:30pm

Join us for a feast and celebration of the harvest. If you have a garden, it's likely producing food right now. If you have zucchini, well, it's probably taking over the world. In the ancient world, they stopped and celebrated and gave thanks for the harvest at the mid point between the summer solstice and the Autumnal equinox. The festival was called Lammas, and it was the first harvest festival, followed by the one at the Equinox, and the last one was on Halloween, which was also the new year.

I love connecting with the ancient celebrations because they are earth centered. Living with the seasons is living with an understanding of the wheel of life. It feels good to me to mark the seasons with other people.

^ Absolutely. It's very important, IMHO, to show reverence and gratitude toward your mother the Earth, and all the better to do so in the company of those who feel the same way. This is truly an ancient form of religion you're partaking in , herbivore. I'm jealous. %) You'll have to let us know how it went!

Pagan is from the Latin paganus, whence French paysan and Italian paisano, "of the countryside". It was originally a polite way of referring to people who worship nature.

so i just noticed that ebola? "closed" the syncronicity thread and earlier today i "closed" a door in my house. i think.

pretty spooky, eh?

check this shit out.

the word 'significance' contains the letter 'a'. i got an 'a' in french at school - it was my best subject.

spooky, eh?

also, my french teacher's first name was andrew. that name does not appear anywhere in this thread.

but imagine if it did. that would be an amazing coincidence, right? it's like it actually happened. but it didn't. but just imagine if it did.

You must mock, eh?

The focus of this forum is harm reduction. In the spirit of harm reduction. "I care".

It is a full moon.

I saw a fire truck today. It crossed in front of me when (after) I saw the full moon. It had the number 4 on it. The last one that crossed in front of me that I could see had a 23 on it and that day you wrote, and it was all I read or remembered of what you wrote, when I saw it: "fire engine". Could be nothing. I doubt it. Why? Because there is something and not nothing and I doubt it ends there. But I think nothing is a pretty... Powerful. Focus, on the void. Nothing. Hoo hoo. Nothing.

Dawn made it to Ceres today.
"We're exploring the last uncharted world of the solar system," Chief Engineer Dr. Marc Rayman.

The Rays from the Sun reflect on the full moon as Dawn...

Ceres...

A series?

Ceres is a goddess of agriculture, grain crops, and motherly relationships.

So there is no particular reason for me to put this here in the P&S social but I was stopping by to browse and it's on my mind so.....

Last week my car got hit from behind while I was stopped at a red light. I got bounced into the car in front of me and so had damage to both ends of my 10 year old Subaru. I was terrified that it was going to be considered "totaled" (amerikanese for not worth fixing as per the insurance companies) because A) I planned on keeping that car for at least another 100000 miles and B) I cannot afford car payments on a new car and C) for what they would give me (about 7K) I would not get a very reliable used car and I have taken really good care of this one. So the metaphorical gods and goddesses had mercy on my plight and the car barely met the requirement to be fixed. As soon as I got it out of the body shop I took it to the mechanic for a routine service and found out that it has leaking gaskets and may not be worth fixing. Is this a case of "be careful what you ask for"?
