haha i used to love spaced but i don't think that first link is the 'best of spaced'

i don't think you can have a 'best of spaced' really, you need to watch it all because you need to know the characters to know the humour.

Completley agree; I think the rave episode is one of the best but couldn't find a clip of it haha.

they're all so good. somebody told me, after series one that series two was terrible so i didn't watch it for the longest time. when i finally got round to watching it, i enjoyed it just as much.

One of those shows that has a timeless quality, I've watched all the episodes at least five times and it's still just as fresh.

You know a good comedy sir. I watched it when I was younger and didn't really get it, glad I revisited it.

So Matisse & Sadko, Hardrock Sofa, Swanky Tunes and Arty are opening of SHM in Moscow! Luck bastards!

haha I want to see Arty so badly! He is coming to Vancouver but the main issue is I don't know how to get back to my house at 3am from downtown Vancouver seeing how the last bus to my neighborhood stops running at 12:30am and doesn't start back up till about 5:30 or 6:00 am... :(

I live about 45 min outside of the downtown core if not longer so cabbing would be extremely expensive for a poor student.

Why is life so cruel? (jk it's not. I have a nice cushy spoiled life. :))

The majority of raves (read: city sanctioned concerts) around here are forced to kick anyone under 21 out at 1am so even if I did go to one I probably couldn't roll :\ I really don't want to wait till festival season to be able to listen to music lmao, I need to get out of this state.

Maybe if there was a milligram of MDMA around things would be a bit different :p

i don't get it. while hicks was born in the south, his material was surely the antithesis of what you might describe as southern comedy - subversion, philosophy, etc.

i'm genuinely interested in understanding why you feel bill hicks, of all people, somehow represents "the south"?

i do agree that, while it's something of a self-reinforcing argument, good comedy is universal.

Oh wow haha, I completely confused him with Bill Engvall. That's my bad.

What time do clubs and bars close in downtown VC? If you can wait it out at a club just take the bus in the AM. Designate a friend as a DD or ask a friend to pick you up. Try to find a cheap hostel that's in walking distance. Also try to couch surf.

When on my EU trip I had 24hr layover in Madrid. We couldn't get a hostel because it was the final day of the Popes youth week. Most of the bars and clubs were closed out of respect. After stumbling around the main square we found were approached a promoter telling us hes hosting a pub crawl. For 20eu we got some bomb ass paella a 2 free beers and a freed drink at every bar/club we went to (we went to 5). Ended up getting hammered took the train to airport and slept at the gate till my flight LOL.

It's funny, I haven't been in a club since I was 16 so I have no idea how late clubs shut down in Vancouver! I have no idea how I actually got into clubs at 16... :S (still underaged but have a slick fake ID that works 100% of the time)

Since it's a 19+ event only a few select friends could attend (a bunch of us have fakes) and no one has their drivers license except me. I don't plan on drinking or taking any drugs so I could drive if I had my car insured but I don't.

Never thought of a Hostel seeing how I'm from Vancouver (well at least a suburb of it), I will definitely look into that!

If not I think there is a night bus that runs from Vancouver to SFU (Local University) and my friend goes there who loves to have people over so I might crash on her floor if I can figure out the bus details.

I wish events here were like 12am-6am, that would make life so much easier! :(

Thanks for all the suggestions, hopefully the hostel one works out, I will have at least one other person with me so it shouldn't cost too much I hope!

Here in the UK we're lucky enough to be able to sit at a train-station for a few hours and just wait for the trains/buses to start running. Got to love out transport system!

^ If I were to try and wait for the skytrain to start running again in the train station police would throw my ass out. There is an issue in Vancouver with the homeless trying to sleep in the train stations so they get locked up once the train stops running.

This isn't looking good, all my friends are too poor to go or don't want to. :(

What would you say the main difference is between the "nightclub" and "rave" atmosphere? Clubs seem to really be the only thing left in Seattle, and even if I could only go for a few hours it would still be fun.

Might hit up the Nicky T concert though, that seems like a dope show.

I haven't been to a legit rave since November 2011. All I can find now is just shows at venues that people call "raves." Back in May-July of 2011 I used to be apart of a group of 200 or so ravers that would rent out warehouses in shady areas and have a legit "rave." I lost my connections and sorta fell outta that group so I'm stuck with mainstream "raves" now. :(

But yeah the easy to find events are just in clubs or proper venues and that's what I like to call a mainstream rave.

I was actually offered to DJ at an event coming up in 10 days that's pretty underground but I turned it down because it's on my buddies birthday.
