I think Louis C K is painfully unfunny. Think the English and Americans have completely different humors and it shows. Are there any Americans that like shows like Spaced, Black Books and Peep Show?

Sure there are some, but think the majority "wouldn't get it".

i'm from the uk originally but i live in the u.s. comedy here took me a little while to get but i think louie is incredibly good. one of my favourite comedy shows ever is from the u.s. - mr. show.

I can speak from first hand experience, don't do it. me and some friends went camping in the summer, did M one night then shrooms next during the day. I'm normally an emotionally stable person, I've never felt so exhausted and felt so depressed in my life.

@mr.mdxx just realized that you live in Vancouver as well, and I saw you post about an event on boxing day; are you going to Contact? :o

haha well yeah, we aren't supposed to name future events we will be attending here in Ecstasy Discussion, that's why I avoided naming it. :)

I'm guessing you are gonna be there?

oh my apologies, I'm new here and didn't know about that. Yeah I'm going with a big group of friends, I leave for Mexico 3 days after so it'll be my final hurrah before the new year. Hopefully there's a decent after-party somewhere because it ends so early :/

i don't get it. while hicks was born in the south, his material was surely the antithesis of what you might describe as southern comedy - subversion, philosophy, etc.

i'm genuinely interested in understanding why you feel bill hicks, of all people, somehow represents "the south"?

i do agree that, while it's something of a self-reinforcing argument, good comedy is universal.
