The Big & Dandy Set and Setting Thread

Hi

For me the best Settig to take Psychedelics is, when i am in a sacred space with only one person as a tripsitter who is experienced , nice Ambeint Music and a good feeling about the Journey i am going to undertake.

For me if i would be in a social setup, it would be strange for me, because i have the Feeling, i get interrupted and cant relax when many people are near by.

It would be interrestingto see, how it is, when you are in a tribe, where all people are really doing this as a shamanic practice and not because its cool and are really connected to eachother, but i dont have this situation so i have to take the best ive got.

What the Set ocncerns i find, the best thing is, to connect with the Substance you are taking, offen it even communicates, how much is wize for you to take, with me it was so, with Salvia. If you are connected, and can trust the plant to some extent, then you dont need to have fear, and the problem with many people who get a bad tirp is fear and non trusting of the plant or chemical substance.

I hope this doesnt sound like a lott of gibbering.

tripping on campus

so i was walking around school toady and thought: this would be an awesome place to trip! i mean you have your dorm close by (or at least i do) if needed and there is so many places to explore (this campus is B-E-A-Utiful). i think this would be during the daytime.

downsides would be of course getting caught but on weekends and like after 5 the school is a ghost town.

what do you think? and if you think there is a better place where might that be?
 
We thought it would be chill, but as first years, the place was too unfamiliar, the friends were unfamiliar, a few guys had bad trips. Chilling in dorms is not much fun, too many noises about but outdoors would be fun I reckon.
 
yes it is amazing. all the different buildings and sculptures. i would highly recommend it.
 
Hah, once there was like 8 or 9 of us all tripping acid outside our dorm and they almost caught some of us smoking weed, they all had to run. It was crazy.

I would say it probably depends mostly on how your campus is. When I was in college I didn't trip as much as I do now and I wasn't as comfortable with it, but I did use mushrooms once and DXM once while I was out on campus. It was a lot of fun but made me a bit nervous because of campus police and drunk partiers. But since people are expected to be walking around there, I was not bothered and it was a good time.

I never tripped in my dorm room... that sounds like a bad idea. I would feel enclosed and trapped I think. I was only in the dorms my freshman year though. I did trip in the house I lived in sophmore year, which was great because I lived there with 4 friends who all loved to trip.
 
Bedroom by far is my favorite. Its familiar, and comfortable. My room is about 20x12 and therefore there is enough room to be retarded. Plus I have an attached bathroom so I dont have to travel far.

I put on music, kill ALL the lights, only the power LEDs on my speakers and my cable modem are lit up.

My infinite playlist for music is pretty rad, Its got lots of electronic but then theres some spiritual rock (thrice) in there. Very cool. I feel just spot on when listening to it all.

My best trip was after the Steelers beat the Ravens in OT this year. I love the Steelers and riding that euphoria into my trip just set things up perfectly.
 
I put up like 300 Christmas lights and 4 pinwheels and covered the wall in cool papers and collages that my friend made...it's a really comfortable, colorful environment. I just wish I had better speakers.. :p
It's probably safer to trip on campus than to smoke on campus just because it's really hard to tell when someone's tripping, so just be cool, I guess. It also depends on what you're tripping...when I'm on lsd I like to run around and do things and talk to people but on most other stuff I've done it's a pretty nice place. Especially if your campus has lots of trees, go for it.
 
What is your perfect set and setting?

Usually I just trip with a couple friends at one of our apartments. It's just lately I don't really know what to do with myself once I start tripping. It's like we're chillin at my place listening to music on the xbox 360, watch the visualizer for a while, play some games (or attempt to depending on how hard I'm tripping) but it just gets boring after a while and my past couple trips have been just dull. There's just not enough stuff to stimulate my trip.

What do you guys usually do when you trip? Day or night? At a concert, rave, friend's place, local crack house, etc.
 
Yea like go to a park or something.... maybe camping in the mountains? I bet that would be badass!

Dude, when you trip outside it's impossible not to come across something that will blow your mind.. Electronics bore me madly when i'm tripping.
 
Tripping in a cemetery??

So where I live is very close to a cemetery, it's a very beautiful place, lots of trees and bushes and some very nice grave sites... Anyone ever taken a walk through a cemetery while on a psychadelic? Please share your experiences becuase it sounds like a very unusual and possibly interesting (or scary) thing to do!
