The Big & Dandy Set and Setting Thread

While on a roller coaster it's fun to try and imagine that you are staying stationary but it is in fact the world which if flying around.

I've done this and it was absolutely amazing. The park I was at was a small one with short lines which made it much better. I also took a small dose so everything wouldn't be warping and hard to deal with due to the setting.

I'd take a smaller amount than you're use to. It'll keep you from getting freaked out in the lines and stuff, but make the rides absolutely incredible.

I could see candyflipping and an amusement park, but LSD alone sounds like a recipe for a bad trip.

sounds like an amazing time to me... and i've personally talked to multiple people who have done it. they fuckin loved it.

Low dose, maybe. Personally not something I'd attempt. I wouldn't stray over a tab or two, though. Waiting in line could be particularly atrocious ... as could any number of other things.

In my opinion, there are several less-intense psychedelic drugs that would be better suited for such an adventure.

And wait a minute here. Is there really anyone still making LSD-25 these days, since that Apperson/Pickard lab bust of 2000? If not, these are likely various research chemicals we're discussing here. So, if it's a mellower brand of "LSD", I'd say go for it. If it's a more LSD-like "LSD", it's probably a terrible idea.

^ LOL. Rest assured there is still LSD out there. But let's not get into availability.

i took acid at the county fair once.. it got pretty confusing - especially when i had to make my way down the crowded streets full of policemen to where my ride would be by myself - my suggestion would just be to stay together - help each other not get disoriented and lost..

I thought LSD in Canada was just an urban myth

Definantly not a myth.

Hmm, well the plan is to take two tabs. I do not like waiting in general, so I dont know. I like amusement parks, i hate the line-ups and the people. But im sure it cannot be any worse than taking a quarter of mush on canada day downtown ottawa.

I went to dreamworld at night on acid, it was awsome fun :D

Walking around looking at everyone, not to mention all the shit for kids haha.

Just make sure you sort somewhere that you can go if it gets to much, and from personal experience, dont even bother trying to find your car while tripping balls ^.^

My advice?

No, no, no, no, no.

Horrible sickly-sweet smells, dizzying lights, loud, omnipresent commercialism: "BUY THIS! BUY THAT! SPEND - SPEND - SPEND!!!", angry-looking people in a hurry, yelling at/smacking their kids, etc.

Again, my advice is no. Very no.

Peacelove,
Aldousage

My feelings exactly, well stated, you gave great advice.

I tried to go into a grocery store at the peak of my first mushie travel....bad idea, very bad. I was very happy to get out of there and back to a place I felt protected and secure.

Deep tripping is not really good for loud, noisy, public places, EVER, in my opinion.

I think next time I take acid, or trip on whatever, I am going to hit up the state fair. So many lights and fun rides. The ferris wheel should be fun. Tripping in public isn't a big deal to me though.

mmmmmm, corndogs!

took two tabs at Leeds festival on Saterday, with some magic and a couple of pills.. didn't have a 'bad trip' but lets just say i'm glad the experience wasen't any stronger.. stomping through the endless mud with the thousands of people was pretty intense. think the good stuff must have degraded slightly, as the weekend before they were twice as strong 8o

I tripped at a amusement park a few years ago and I can't say it was very amusing. All of the crowds and little kids screaming almost sent me into a bad trip. Me and my friend ended up sneaking off into a secluded area in some bushes and just ended up chilling there for most of the time till the crowd died down and we came out during the dark so it was harder for people to tell how fucked up we were. I felt like people were staring at me during the day because they could see how giant my pupils were.

I think a lot of the issue is with the individuals who think its a bad idea (or have had bad experiences, myself included), are just general insecurities they may have being magnified. Paranoia, everyone is looking at them/judging, etc. Although, being around that many people there is a lot of opportunity for negativity.

^ Yep. That's exactly what happened to the third person in our party at the park. I just always remember "So what if they know? What are the chances they care? And even if they do care what are they going to do about it?" I mean as long as you're not causing a disturbance or falling over cause you're so messed up, you're good to go.
