The Big & Dandy Set and Setting Thread

When I was younger I used to trip at a lot of shows and festivals but it would make for a lot of confusing trips sometimes. I would get out there and then I would get confused and look for answers in my surroundings and in crowds of people it could turn schizophrenic. It reminds me of the Dead lyrics “if you get confused listen to the music play”.
Now days I trip at Rainbow gatherings once in a while it is more spread out and you can wonder off in the woods and collect your thoughts and identity if you need to. But I will never take large doses at a stadium or large crowded place again, that has just created a lot of confusion in trips for me.
Mostly now days I like to trip at home or in the woods nice quiet surrounded by things I love.
 
if your doing dmt dont trip where theres alot of bugs that bite. im gonna wait til they all die before i try and trip near a river or lake again. uggh florida. inside is a nice place to trip, in the dark or early in the morning, reallllll early.
 
This weekend gonna be heading up to a couple waterfalls with some spice
Will be awesome blasting off in front of this 80 foot waterfall

I was thinking the same thing :D

You should check your local state parks, they often have places like that. You'd have to do quite a bit of personal exploration there to find a place that's isolated enough though.
 
I find that for me, set/setting is the most important factor in my trip after the actual dose of the drug I'm taking.

I agree and I've seen this happen plenty of times. People can think themselves into a bad trip pretty easily with the right substance. Mushrooms for example fuck with my head alot. And when I'm on dxm my thoughts are racing so fast I can't remember things for more than a few minutes.
 
psychedelics and the club

i've never been to the club on psychedelics and i wasn't sure if it's a good idea. i been to a rave on a dose so i guess that would be close but theres a foam party on sunday and i was thinking of going with either 2ci or 2ct7, which would you suggest or is it better not to do it in that environment?

which one makes you hornier? which one makes music sound better?
 
I would avoid going to events on serious psychedelics other than events where a lot of other people are are going to be on serious psychedelics, for sheerly practical reasons as well as because of "vibes"
 
Merged this thread about "psychedelics and the club" into the Big and Dandy Set and Setting thread for further discussion.

Personally, I would not want to use psychedelics in a club, but then, I wouldnh't want to go to a club sober or under the effects of anything else, because it's not my thing. I'd say if you're comfortable with psychedelics (I mean really comfortable with them in a large variety of social settings where you are with people who are not tripping), then either would be a decent choice. Just go light and realize it could go bad. Personally I think it would be a waste of chemicals though... they're better used when you can focus on the effects.
 
LSD in amusement park?

So i'm going to Canada's Wonderland tomorrow and my friends want to do acid. We've all done it quite a few times, so I do not think it will be that bad... but im still not completely sure. Lots of people = kind of :S.

What are your thoughts?

don't take the acid before going there , so you can explore a bit and find a peacefull area where you can retreat to if it becomes a bit too much (the crowds like you mentioned)

also bring your own water and food , so you don't have to buy stuff under the influence
 
well usually i do not eat while on acid... unless its like a smoothie (the texture of it is really strange tho).

I was sort of thinking maybe i do not want to peak at the park? Or if i do, then it has to be like away from the giant crowds of people.
 
Eh, idk if I would personally enjoy that.

If it's anything like amusement parks I've been too in fact I probably would not enjoy it much at all. You have to stand in line for an eternity surrounded by p[eople that will gradually get weirder and weirder looking as you come up.

Horrible sickly-sweet smells, dizzying lights, loud, omnipresent commercialism: "BUY THIS! BUY THAT! SPEND - SPEND - SPEND!!!", angry-looking people in a hurry, yelling at/smacking their kids, etc.

Again, my advice is no. Very no.

Been there. Done that. Would do it again. :D As long as you can handle waiting in lines and lots of people you should be OK. Paranoia cha cha cha

Oh and please please please make sure you have at least one sober friend for a reality anchor and to drive to and from as well.
 
I would love to do something like that. I think I would take the acid just as I was getting there, or when I was already in. I just don't like to be tripping balls and having to pull out my wallet etc. and go into the entrance of places. I like to get in, and soak up the environment while the acid starts to kick in.

I wouldn't be too worried about the other people there. Just keep to yourself and don't be too obvious. A lot of the time when you are tripping you will think everyone is looking at you, but they aren't. The more paranoid you get, the more obvious you will be.
