trying to get the top layer off is a pain in the ass. doesnt help because my container is none see through so ive got to guess how far the baster is going down. ive also got an ear syringe which seems to be better than the baster. gonna have to leave it to settle again before i try and get top layer off. need to get myself a clear container for the next time
 
^You can just slowly poor out the solvent layer into another more transparent container like a pint glass, you won't get all the solvent but you will get enough, don't worry about getting base mixture aswell you will get lot of it but I find it seperates immediately and you can then pull from a thinner container which gives you a thicker solvent layer. Be vary careful with having the lye mix in an open container though, I do this in the bottom of the sink so if it spills it would just go down the plughole. When you've pulled all the solvent you can , don't try and get it all, just pour whats left back in the mix.

update: letting the "dirty" solution sit around for some time now resulted in 1-2cm long cobweb-like structures floating around. fuckin dmt-monochrystals. 8o it's still dirty though. right now the mud is heated up for the dmt go into solution and then pull it with some naphta. hehe :)
 
Try not to breathe when you're sitting over the extraction.

Turn your head to breathe deep- saves using a tshirt or coughing up for extra equipment like masks.

Johannes - I have EXACTLY the same thing - lifted out some of my biggest shards yet off the very top of the basic layer - really beautiful, have left that bottle there for 2 weeks, and decided to just wipe off as much basic layer as possible and smoke the shards at some point - they're too pretty to recrytallize, I don't mind a bit of NaOH - it's mostly tannins anyway imo.

there are plenty of counties where dmt extraction is not illegal

also, meth is not used by any indigenous tribes ;)

Right now I am doing my 3rd pull of the last 140g of Mimosa from the Kilo I got.

This is the first time in all the extractions I've done where I have done all the pulls in one sitting.

All the others I've got too tired, and usually left it til the next day or sometimes even 3-5 days later after the 2nd pull to attempt a 3rd or 4th.

I don't think I'm going to do a 4th.

With this I have decided to use clean solvent for the first 2 pulls, as I know you get an ample saturation with these 2 pulls, then used the 4th pull from my last extraction which has been evapping for about a week with a lil more clean solvent for the 3rd pull.

I don't think I will try a 4th pull, at least not with Naptha.

I still have about 10 Litres of basified mimosa solution from previous extractions lying around, and when I have finished crystallizing this batch, I will buy some d-limonene, or possibly some xylene (although I would like to try and do this inside my house, and as eco-friendly as possible, so think xylene might be off the table).

For re-X am I correct in thinking that light naptha/light petroleum distillates (like zippo/other brand lighter fluid that has been evap tested for residue) is better for recrystallization?? I think I read it is, but just checking - boffin help??

On another note, perfected my DIY vacuum filtration technique, and FUCKKKK I have what looks like fishscale cocaine in my coffee filter - just poured it out onto my crystal dish, as seems it's not going to get any drier using that apparatus, will chop it up - it's completely non-tinted, shiney as fuck whitecrystal CAKE!!! MMmmm...This is my best STB so far - used the 4th pull (evapped for a week) from my last extraction as part of the solvent for my 3rd pull on my last extraction of the kilo.

The filtered solvent has gone back in the freezer in a new jar, and the previous one is upside down in the freezer.

My god this is beautiful, major turning point in my skills - this all happened coz I did all the pulls in one session, instead of over the period of a week - take time to do it newbies, I will say it maes it a HELLOFALOT easier to not draw fats and oils.

ok did 3 pulls. got a small jam jar full of naptha. shall i stick this in the freezer or evap a bit first? if i fully evap it will it be just as good as freezing? i assume the end result will be not very crystally or something
 
Evaporate it until it gets cloudy at room temperature then stick it in the freezer..

If you fully evap instead of freezing you will get more of a waxy kind of DMT, there are oils and stuff that will come out the don't come out in the freezer

I like to freeze precipitate it and when all the crystals crash out, I put the naptha into a pyrex and evaporate that and keep the wax separate from the crystals
 
In my opinion yes

The wax is a mixture of DMT n-oxide oil and DMT, it is just as potent as the DMT crystals. The only thing that isn't as good is it is a bit harder to handle then crystals..
