Basically Colemans campfuel used to just be naptha.
Now it has an Anti rusting agent in it to prevent rusting of the can on the inside.
I went to the store and acquired some ronsonol and mixed the two of them together.
Miraculously i have been able to change my cruddy Blue crystals once again back into those glorious white goodies. Success :D
indeed it is as simple as baking a cake.
unless colemans campfuel is what you are using.
There is a Blue anti rusting agent in it which wasn't in it ever before until recently.
So watch out. it'll turn your stuff blue.
If you're using Mimosa Hostillis Root Bark i recommend using STB (Straight To Base) TEK's.. I use Noman's TEK and i must say, it was muchh easier than i first thought it would be. Yield was surprising and quality was overwhelming. Didn't even do a recrystallization
Yeah, definitely. But when they first came out of the freezer they were absolutely white. when they dried they were so white and fluffy i just didn't bother.. haha
Was scared of losing some too, 'twas my first extraction
But next time it will be a much smoother extraction, much higher yield and much more pure result
Simple as baking a cake that could potentially blind you, burn your house down, or eat your skin off.
Teks may be simple to follow, but extractions are dangerous. This thread is important, because if there's not a free exchange of information on the subject people are more likely to hurt themselves acting in ignorance.
^ Indeed. I think the extraction procedure is pretty safe as long as one is aware of the dangers of strong bases / smelly solvents, and approaches the extraction accordingly, though.
For aesthetic reasons recrystalized is better. Otherwise i find the effects pretty similar whether recrystalized or not and dosage is pretty similar too
hey guys, do you know if freeze precipitation will give a bad smell to the freezer, like the smell of naptha? I have some food in the freezer too, am i going to have to take out my food from there or will i be fine?
Yeah, it stinks the area out a fair bit. My whole kitchen smelt like a petrol station, and when you open the fridge/freezer it feels like you're getting high from the fumes haha
If you haven't got much naptha then it shouldn't take too long to evaporate it
my friend called and said the sodium hydrox and water is warm..is that normal? also when he wants to knw when he adds the bark and shakes it up, should he leave the top on or take it off?
adding sodium hydroxide (lye) to water releases heat.
He must keep the lid of the jar on TIGHT while shaking the bark/water/lye mixture up YOU DO NOT WANT LYE ON YOUR SKIN, it will cause permanent scars if left on long enough (keep some vinegar close by for this) (we've all seen fight club). The heat released by the lye + water will not be enough to make the jar explode or watever, itll just get somewhat warm.
