alejandro jodorowsky's THE HOLY MOUNTAIN (1973)
2v3lyde.gif

absolutely mindblowing, breathtaking visual cinematography that has been, at least for me, equally AMAZING on 2c-xx, LSD, DOx, mescaline, psilocybin, etc..

i'd include all the photos/links but i am posting from the phone, someone do me the favor!

I've never even heard of this before. Thanks! Downloading now and watching tomorrow

Woah Into the Void was pretty cool!
I watched the trip part on Youtube.

They had the experience pretty close!
Right down to having things put into you and taken out of you by some sort of thing.

The only thing they forgot is the rocket ride through the chrysanthemums through the membrane and into entity land.

I take it I need to see the rest of the movie. lol Hope I'm not spoiling stuff.

I watched this the very first time I took LSD. Was a very strange experience.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned "Heavy Metal"
That one is way out.

C'mon where's my cartoon/anime warriors.

I'll check out the holy mountain and others in here. Obviously some good stuff going around hehe. I like this thread. <3

How about "The never ending story"
or "The last starfighter"

Both crazy too! Give you other-wordly thoughts.

Released as "Renegade" in the US (there's another one called "Renegade" with a kinda similar cover so be sure it's the right one). Released as "Blueberry' (graphics arts origin name) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blueberry_(film)

(see below for the beautiful posters)

The most intricate, emotionally "deep" visualizations of states of heavy psychedelic intoxication ever produced, absolutely STUNNING, in the context of a mysterious story about the confrontation of innocence and evil as well as memory, guilt and redemption... oh and secret Indian sacraments.

PLEASE do NOT pre-watch the psychedelic sequences on YouTube I BEG YOU!!! Not only is the visual quality far too inferior to get the proper effect and all the crucial intricate detail put into them, but this will SPOIL the film for you. It's not terribly great storytelling or acting, but decent, and watched as a whole film, the hallucinogen sequences REALLY are integrated with and integral to the plot, and at the end surprising and deeply moving... watching them beforehand WILL SPOIL KEY PLOT ELEMENTS FOR YOU, and deny you of experiencing the shamanically constructed power that the writer/director poured into this film. It opens with a beautiful sequence where we join an Eagle, the traditional chaperone animal on vision quests, on a stunning flight over desert terrain.

I assiduously avoided ALL contact with these sequences that I know to exist but avoided looking at. I did 25mg of 2C-I (other things would do, but a a dose low enough not to interfere too much with conprehension) and watched it with the lights down and soundtrack over the stereo and WHOA I was deeply affected for days.

I was amazed and not really certain WHAT I had experienced until I watched it again straight except for a little weed, but the first virgin viewing while tripping was a deep powerful experience I will never ever forget, almost as if I was the main character going on the cosmic voyages.

I was not surprised to learn that Jan Kounen actually moved to South America and lived with native shamen there for A YEAR learning about Ayahuasca (though in the film it's confusingly shown to be Peyote, and unidentified smoked mixture, as well as components of Ayahuasca... but that doesn't matter and was probably even deliberate so it would be not about any particular drug but rather about the process of receiving and using shamanic vision-states no matter what the source).

He clearly learned well, so get yourself a copy of this, AVOID pre-viewing ANY of it, do a good dose of whatever, turn out the lights and get ready for a true psychonautical adventure par-extraordinaire!

ok, man.
This was shown to me well before I touched any of these alien substances known today.
I only saw the first 30 seconds of the animation the first time in some messed up youtube clip of the movie.
I didn't think much of it then and partook in some deemster shenanigans since.
I have never actually seen the whole sequence.

I just caught a glimpse of it now on youtube also and am duly impressed, BUT!
Since I did read your prior warning NOT to youtube the whole scene I shut it off before watching all of it.

Now sir, you have me intrigued to go watch the full length movie.
The only problem is I'm no pirate and I have no cash.
Now what do you suggest?
haha

I need to see this somehow.
It's clear I need to sit down and see all these movies I have been missing.

"Pi" is a very special movie in my opinion and is worthy of a moment.

It is about a disturbed mathematical savant who stumbles across the 216 digit "name" of god while trying to crack the stock market.

It is deep, intense, and original. Possibly a bit too intense for some, my wife can't even handle it sober. It is directed by Darren Aronofsky and features an amazing soundtrack as well.

Glad you followed my advice, now when you see it fully tripping you will get the full and incredible impact! "Welcome to the real world" haha just wait, you'll see!

Well for this movie in particular you can buy the DVD for $12.49. Can you scrape together $12.49, maybe loose change in the seat cushions? Or $2.38 for the VHS version.

Sorry that's the best I am willing to do... I strongly believe Jan Kounen deserves to be rewarded for his visionary risk-taking and won't assist in copying. Good luck... its definitely worth the effort to scrape together the $15 one way or another.

to the people that have seen The Matrix tripping, did any part set off a bad trip? I'm very good at letting bad thoughts and visuals pass without taking much interest in them, I just know that movie is kind-of gnarly especally when cypher and neo are fighting.\
Also, Just the first one, or the trilogy?

Long time lurker, might as well jump in.

I can highly recommend the DVD "Minilogue - Animals [the movie]". This movie is extremely trippy even without psychedelics, and with, the film is even better. I started out watching it while smoking weed, and forced myself to close it 50% through so I could enjoy the other half on acid. I did, and it was one of the most enjoyable visual experiences I have ever had.

It's an 80-minute audio visual journey divided into chapters with different themes. The whole masterpiece is one big seamless transition that flows very well. It has some breathtaking visuals, lots of 'infinite' regression themes, stop-motion, photography, and other creative filmography. All of this carefully synced with some ambient minimal electronic.

Here's a youtube clip of the intro: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5HmE299Ktk

And here's one of the first chapters: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlAtRZ268Sg There's also a trailer out there, but I wouldn't recommend watching it as it could spoil some of the scenes.

It's a bit hard to find as it never gained huge popularity, but if you look around you should be able to download it in parts. It's also available on amazon. I hope whoever watches it enjoys it as much as I did.
