The Big & Dandy Methoxetamine (MXE) Thread - Chapter 14

I remember reading something about chest pains and MXE. Im feeling slight pain in my chest today, its weird. I only took 40mg yesterday and before that its been weeks I last did MXE. and I have never abused mxe, so it couldnt be mxe causing this? I have drank alcohol 2 days in a row being pretty plastered every night too..

MXE confuses the heart, yes.

Physical activity helps to compensate.

It was pyrosis caused by alcohol. Something i didnt recognize at first because its something i never have. So no problems from mxe yet for me.

Has any of you experienced synesthesia from mxe? I got the most intense synesthesia yesterday with about 60mg mxe, a few bowls of cannabis and plenty of red wine. I havent felt music that intense even with high acid doses. I didnt even know mxe could produce states like that.
How extraordinary but marvelous experience. I wish I could put it into words and write a trip report, but words cant convey.

Yeah MXE at high doses with music is incredible, that's what I was doing when I had my M-hole experience that I wrote about. Laying down, hit of cannabis (or not, but it synergizes), music. Give Shpongle a try with it, my personal favorite (by far) is Nothing Lasts But Nothing Is Lost (the album)... it seems made for the MXE experience, to me. I actually have listened to that album most of the times I've done full doses of MXE, it's that good.

I'd say it synergizes +too+ well with cannabis actually. They potentiate each other so strongly that it is almost impossible for me to combine them without it being much too much.

I have a question for you folks who get music enhancement from MXE. This also applies to ketamine, which is the only other dissociative I have experience with. What is the music enhancement like for you? Is it similar as on classical psychedelics, or of a different kind? For me, dissociatives seem to de-enhance music, if that makes any sense. On the classical psychedelics, music is a revelation for me, absolutely a gift from God, it becomes my whole being and speaks to me in really primordial ways. On dissociatives, nothing of the sort. Music stops making "sense" to me, it feels foreign and uncanny. On high doses of MXE, it begins to sound empty, metallic and shrill. Rhythms become jumbles of unrelated pulsations. Once, on a high dose of MXE I even started having distinct visual hallucinations of a "biohazard" symbol that seemed to be emanating directly from the music. So I do get a kind of synesthesia on MXE and I have intense experiences with music, I guess, but not one that I would call music enhancement. It just makes the music sound really strange, like it doesn't belong to my senses. I'm just curious if what I'm describing is what you mean by music enhancement, since it does trigger all kinds of really trippy and sometimes meaningful experiences, but it doesn't feel at all euphoric or anything like that.

On the other hand, films on ketamine and MXE are amazing for me. I feel as though I can see the film on an infinite amount of different planes of reality, and I get completely immersed.

Well, I tend to like really empty, metallic, (but not shrill) music on dissos. Lots of glitchy IDM, atmospheric black/drone metal, dark ambient and such. Give me a tiny hint of a sad melody poking through a massive slow moving wall of noise and I'm happy. It doesn't feel foreign though, becomes very, very intimate and oddly emotional in a detatched sort of way. I ride it like waves... It sounds more or less like it always does, but it has much more impact. On psychs I require more positive, happier music with more structure.

Only videos I've found that I like on MXE are porn and science-porn (David Attenbourgh's series on Birds is awesome), plot driven things become all confusing and jumbled, odd and off putting, becoming much darker than any of my horrible music.

What kind of music are you listening to when you have these negative experiences? To me, if a particular music has any potential to produce euphoria sober, then it will almost certainly produce euphoria on MXE. When dissociated, the boundary between my self and the music can completely dissolve, and the movement of the sound becomes much more likely to 'ring my bell', as in produce a fireworks show of electrical activity in my brain. As long as it's good music, the reward centers of my brain get triggered like I'm eating ice cream, having an orgasm and being forgiven for all my sins by jesus christ himself all simultaneously. You mention music becomes thin sounding on dissociative, are you listening to low quality mp3 streams, or on a low quality sound system without bass representation? Because the boundary between you and music dissolves, you may be more receptive to the imperfections that would otherwise be forgiven in a sober state of perception.

Of course, my brain may be wired a bit differently than others in regards to music. I produced electronic music for 15 years and listen to music 4-8 hours a day regardless of my state of consciousness. Music may be intricately entangled to my receptor activity. What I love most through dissociation is the direct stream of consciousness; existence as a wave, and consciousness as a center-point.

I don't really experience much music enhancement on sub-hole doses of ketamine and MXE, however on hole-level doses, I literally become the music and it becomes utterly intertwined with the entire nature of the trip, and once even led me into the oneness. The closer you get to the hole the more the music changes... when I had my MXE-hole a little while back, I eventually experienced the exact same fraction of a second of the music (just a sound), repeating endlessly, I had seemingly slipped into an endless moment.

Pieces in a modern style 1 & 2 by william orbit has been my go to mxe music lately, very beautiful stuff. I really need to take a break, I collected a nice little stock pile thinking it would last me at least a year but my tolerance is through the roof and am so used to dosing after work. I think I' m going to cut out one last gram, put the rest in storage, and give my fiancee the key. Has anyone mixed mxe with DOC? I don't believe it's listed on the safe /unsafe combo page.

You'd probably like the Qatsi trilogy. Naqoyqatsi + Autechre on MXE was incredible.

edit: while we're on the topic of music I should say that Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works 2 is my go-to dissociative music these days.

I had similar experiences when I first used MXE. It took like 10 sessions and a lot of time between sessions until MXE really started to shine. I started to enjoy the high and music started to sound awesome. But as Xorkoth said, the higher you dose the more intense music becomes. Also one of my friends who tried MXE for the first time a few weeks ago said that music didnt sound good. And I remember that many posters have said this same thing here on bluelight.

Anyway last time I did MXE a few days ago and listened music laying on my bed it was the most intense eargasm and synesthesia I've ever felt.. I dont know if it was the mxe, cannabis, alcohol, or the combination of all of them but it was phenomenal.

With regards to music & MXE, I find if I notice "imperfections" like in badly compressed files more. Also, either a nice, loud system with subs or a good pair of over the ear headphones makes a huge difference. Even my Cerwin-Vega E31O's (no sub) sounds kind of weak while the same tunes through my Audio Technica ATH M50's take me... there. Still like everything with MXE its somewhat unpredictable.

Over 3 years ok MXE use, I'm convinced the hole is only "open" sometimes. Sometimes taking more just won't get you there no matter what. It will get you confused & disoriented though. Lying still in bed with headphones & blindfold is is the best bet IME. Pure Bliss...

Thats a fact jack, I see that very clearly, and often you end up in a hole when it is either a psychological reward or part of a process of learning something. Your subconscious decides whether you deserve to hole or not. Holing is not a linear response to taking a given magical dose. I have holed on 30mg and not holed on a cumulative total of 300 and in ways entirely contrary to your tolerance or dosage pattern.

You must make yourself receptive to the Hole, and it must be given you.

Tolerance too follows an erratic pattern. Tolerance seems to pop up and obliterate independently of dosing schemes, stomach content or circadian rhythm.
