I have a question for you folks who get music enhancement from MXE. This also applies to ketamine, which is the only other dissociative I have experience with. What is the music enhancement like for you? Is it similar as on classical psychedelics, or of a different kind? For me, dissociatives seem to de-enhance music, if that makes any sense. On the classical psychedelics, music is a revelation for me, absolutely a gift from God, it becomes my whole being and speaks to me in really primordial ways. On dissociatives, nothing of the sort. Music stops making "sense" to me, it feels foreign and uncanny. On high doses of MXE, it begins to sound empty, metallic and shrill. Rhythms become jumbles of unrelated pulsations. Once, on a high dose of MXE I even started having distinct visual hallucinations of a "biohazard" symbol that seemed to be emanating directly from the music. So I do get a kind of synesthesia on MXE and I have intense experiences with music, I guess, but not one that I would call music enhancement. It just makes the music sound really strange, like it doesn't belong to my senses. I'm just curious if what I'm describing is what you mean by music enhancement, since it does trigger all kinds of really trippy and sometimes meaningful experiences, but it doesn't feel at all euphoric or anything like that.
On the other hand, films on ketamine and MXE are amazing for me. I feel as though I can see the film on an infinite amount of different planes of reality, and I get completely immersed.
