The Big & Dandy HPPD Thread

The other day I was at the dentist office and they had the prettiest wallpaper

The walls looked as if they were breathing and the patterns were so intricate

It was moving around so much I almost became dizzy after I zoned out for a bit

It was fun , kinda like free droogz
 
Yeah, I still haven't been able to find a single negative thing about HPPD. Maybe I'm just that much of a freak.
 
Free dr00gz. It's kinda like those coffee club cards they got. Where they stamp it each time you buy a coffee and then on the tenth one you get a free coffee :)

I don't think it means for sure that you would get more hppd, but it could be a starting point. It's a crap shoot. Some people are fine for 100s of trips, some get screwed after 1 :-).

I didn't consums so much, but quite repeatidly during the last 6 months.
did you continue to consums drugs during the 8th months or did you stop ?
 
I used to, it's not so bad anymore. During the period of my life when I was eating 15+ decent blotters at least once a week I would have almost persistent distortion of vision even when sober; if I stared at a flat surface (e.g wall, carpet etc) for more then a few seconds it would start rippling and doing the classic acid jazz shuffle.

There were some other minor disturbances but these days i don't notice it, i take acid far less frequently and have stopped some of my experimentation with wacky neurotransmitter cocktails and nootropics.

I've tripped probably 150+ on LSD and probably a combined 50 times on other psychs (e.g shrooms, mescy, DOx etc)

Strangely enough, the only 'bad trip' i've ever really experienced, which was a VERY bad trip and a hefty psychological experience (12,000ug freak-out) did not leave me with any noticeable visual or mental artifacts or pathologies, after a couple good night's rest I was good as new again...

For those wondering if you really have HPPD.

Go outside on a clear sunny day and look at the ground. Does the glare seem much more intense? Does the sun shining off of reflective surfaces create huge distortions of the reflection to where it looks like a gigantic ball of light? When you look directly into a beam of light, can you see it spread out and even divide into the different color spectrums? Visual snow is self explainatory. Do you get tracers off of things in day light? Do you get gigantic halos around light at night?

All of those i've mentioned above are cookie cutter symptoms of HPPD. If you notice persistent distortions like that after drug use has stopped, then you got hppd, or you're on your way to develop it.
 
The way I see the world now is equivalent to perhaps half a tab of some good LSD. Minus the euphoria, and only a small portion of the racey thoughts. Am I going to die? I feel like it's a blessing to see things this way? What is wrong with me ShaolinBomber?

Well I tripped once or twice more, stopped for four months during the summer, took probably two more trips spread out over two months, stopped for two months then got my visual snow one morning randomly.
 
I wont be tripping on Acid or Mushrooms ever again it seriously fuckin rewired my brain with unrealistic crazy paranoid thoughts for the last 3 months I reckon if I did trip again ill be going straight up the looney bin.
Even cut right down on ganja now coz that has been changed by doing trips it now brings on the evil thoughts twice as bad.
 
my HPPD has given me some serious social anxiety more so than I had before

im so scared of strangers these days , i cant look people in the eyes anymore

i can see to deeply
 
Even before I got into tripping I realized booze lifted a certain social apprehension that I had. It's still like this today.

alcohol lowers social anxiety for everyone. Thats why people who cant hold their drinks get rowdy or act like douche bags.

In response to your other post. Nothing is wrong with you. At this point, all i can tell you is that theres a likely chance that people who have HPPD have had some kind of long lasting changes made to inhibitory interneurons. Neurotransmitters are responsible for plasticity inside the neocortex, which includes the visual cortex, and it could be that the drugs have "rewired" our brains so that GABAergic inhibitory neurons dont respond the same to excitation so the excitation never gets settled so everytime we look at something, theres going to be an enhancment of it, and some kind of distortion, like visual snow, tracers, afterimages, etc.
 
Tripped around 30 times before...but definitely have some mad HPPD. Even when I had only done shrooms I would occasionally get swirls in my peripheral but once I did 2ce/i and acid, I definitely noticed my HPPD get more intense. Now I have a pretty permanent 2c/acid physical feeling all of the time and about two or three times a day I will "flashback" pretty hard (patterns, slight mental state, sometimes colors) for about five to ten minutes. My friends have caught me several times in this state and said that my pupils were "fucking huge."

Based on hearing other peoples' experiences I feel like I am much more permanently affected from psychedelics, but I don't really feel that it inhibits me at all from my daily life. I think smoking weed daily may have to do with it as well though. I think I may stay away from 2cs and acid for now on though, considering that I don't want to worsen the condition.

Not HPPD unless all of it is permanent. You just get flashbacks.
