HPPD - a blessing? a curse? inevitable?
Hi, I am really quite confused about HPPD. I inititally thought that one's chances of getting HPPD from psychedelic use were small enough to be worthy of dismissal. However, it seems that it is a lot more common than I perhaps first presumed. A lot of the posters here have described living with HPPD as a nightmare and a living hell. Others have said that it is really only, in their case, mild (albeit persisting) visual distortitions that prove no more irritating or debilitating than a neon mosquito flying about in their peripheral visions.
What I want to know is - do you regard HPPD as inevitable? And is it? Are the chances of getting it really much higher than previously thought, and is it wise to persist with psychedelic use in spite of HPPD? Are there any known precautionary methods to lower ones chances of getting HPPD (other than abstinence, obviously)? Are there any solid statistics/studies/scientific evidence on the subject?
