Yeah my important trips on it were also for the purpose of recreation, interestingly the most important one was at a Phish show where I just danced and got my face blasted by the music. The euphoria combined with an introspective mindspace and emotional opening led me to break through some barriers that were holding me back, including but not limited to the final letting go and acceptance of the demise of my marriage.
I'm planning to try DOC soon, at maybe 4mg.
From what I've read, it seems like a very benign substance, with a very clean and comfortable body high. But the nausea and body load on the comeup that is sometimes reported seems to worry me a bit.
I was thinking about using ginger root, would that do any help?
For me, LSD only gives some light, but really annoying muscle tension throught the entire trip, with no noticeable vasoconstriction and absolutely no nausea, except for a slightly upset stomatch at the comeup. How does DOC compare? Should I be expecting the side effects to be anything too different?
It is quite benign, I will say that at the beginning it has more bodyload than LSD usually (sometimes it has virtually none at any time). Usually during the come-up and beginning stages there is a lot of energy coursing through my limbs and it causes me to squirm. I have noticed that when I take it and then go hiking, or swimming, or anything else physical out in nature, the energy is channeled well and aside from the come-up always feeling a bit alien/unsettling until I get used to it, those come-ups tend to be quite easy. When I take it and sit around while I come up it can get pretty hectic, for example the last time I did it I almost wished I hadn't taken it for about 3 hours until I got out of the house and started doing stuff, although since I am experienced with it I knew that would pass and I'd be glad I had taken it (I was).
One of the main differences between DOC and LSD is that DOC never makes me feel out of control or afraid... it's a very enabling type of substance. Even if I'm uncomfortable because of the initial energy of it, I can still talk to people normally, maintain my cool, etc. With LSD sometimes you can get really far out there and fear starts to creep in, and this has never once happened with DOC even when I hadn't used it before.
Also, DOC just gets more and more comfortable as time goes on. By the end stages it's sublime for me, always. With many other psychedelics, towards the end it can turn into annoying residual stimulation and can be difficult to deal with, but DOC just gets cleaner and cleaner feeling as it goes on.
I sometimes get some nausea from DOC... generally if I try to eat something too soon before or during the come-up, I get a bit nauseous. In the past I have thrown up from it and then felt better but it's been a long time since I've thrown up from anything. If I have an empty stomach it tends to hit me faster and the come-up can be slightly more intense but the nausea isn't really an issue. If I eat something a couple of hours beforehand it seems to go best and my stomach might feel a bit fluttery during the come-up but that's it. DOC produces vasconstriction in some people, it's only bad for me if I abuse it.
My favorite dose is 3.5mg... 4mg is noticeably stronger. At 3.5mg I can function during all the parts of the trip but at 4-4.5mg sometimes the peak makes me relatively unable to function and I just have to immerse in music or something. And the peak is LONG, so keep that in mind. I would start at 3 or 3.5mg, it will be a strong trip. If you're generally sensitive to phenethylamines then I'd start even lower.
