The Big & Dandy Day vs Night Tripping Thread

Mid/late afternoon so you get the best of both worlds

Dropping acid at around 11pm lets you experience dawn during the later phase of a trip... this + outdoors = epicness. Highly recommended.

In general though, I like day trips more than night trips. That said, I like tripping more than not tripping, so convenience usually dictates my schedule. As a result, I've tripped many more nights than days.

Ah, i gotcha.
i never really was into that kind of music, guess thats why i didn't know. lol.

"that kind of music" hmm, the beatles made tons of psyche-rock. granted, there's a lot of crappy pop-rock you have to wade through, but if you appreciate lsd, you definitely need to hear the entire magical mystery tour album while tripping. it's epic as fuck.

I like both, but they are definitely different. Day time is a lot more euphoric and adventurous and nature oriented. Nighttime is usually a lot more introspective and there are more visual aspects.

Hmm. I've actually never tripped during the day.
For that matter, i've only smoked weed a handfull of times during the day (i smoke weed daily)

I prefer starting in the evening; then tripping all night and a bit of the morning and then sleeping around noon; its what I usually do. Earlier afternoon is nice too but I'm usually up to late to start that early.

Most of my tripping has been at night as that's usually when I'm alone and most comfortable. The times I've attempted to trip in the day have either not worked (too weak? who knows) or been uncomfortable and stopped in some way. I got into the habit of tripping at night so much that now staying up all night and seeing daylight start to happen now reminds me of the end of the trip and has become a negative experience as it's a harsh kick back into the real world I was trying to escape. A lot of my night tripping was to avoid the world rather than explore it.

I would like to smash out of old habits and swap night, indoors, alone to day, outdoors, with company but I'm not sure how feasible this would be. At the moment being outside in the day with people around scares me enough sober.

How is trippin' when it's raining out? Anyone have any experience? I feel like it would be awesome.

night tripping vs day tripping

So yesterday me and my buddy ingested 18 grams of peruvian torch for the day. this was similar to a mushroom trip. everything was so crispy and vivid and I felt overwhelming joy just lying in the sun.

At night, after most of the trip had worn off, we took 20 grams. The night trip was COMPLETELY different. I didn't feel nearly any joy or warmth. I was pretty clear minded - but there were patterns EVERYWHERE. I would like at the ground and grass and see patterns over them crop-field style (except much smaller). Everywhere I looked I would see patterns. But no amazing joy and well-being feeling, just trippiness.

Depending on where I was looking, the patterns would be different. Some looked like this http://img81.imageshack.us/i/1000759yr7.jpg/ and others were more symbol like http://www.ghystone.com/image/stoneproduct/medallion/yuan/medallion-84.jpg . They looked like epic pattern-filled medallions over the grass. It felt like I could step in the middle and the border would light up and ascend to heaven. I could actually read some letters on the ground very easily but they didn't make sense.

Anyway, night and day tripping for me were completely different. What do you guys think?

It is definitely a different vibe. I don't know if I have ever made the distinction about joy and warmth like you said, but if you think about it, it makes sense. I feel like tripping brings you in touch with your more animal side, and for animals that are awake during the day the sunlight is a much safer space, it is when you are alive. lol, but I may be taking this too far :) I like both. The visuals are certainly different at night. There is more room for you to imagine things when everything is dark.

I prefer day trips mostly because they don't tend to screw up my sleep pattern! Ha. Still, the most important thing is to have something available to do to prevent the trip from sucking: can you stare at your eyelids for 10 hours? walk in the park? hike? etc. Some trips want to be done outside so daylight is often better, othertimes a quiet walk outside is needed so night time. All depends.

both have their advantages, but i would say that i prefer night tripping. the visuals always seem much more pronounced and being outside in the dark while tripping can have a kind of eerie effect which i find fun.

I usually enjoy dosing a few hours before the sun goes down, if it's going to be an outdoor trip.

That's so I can see all the color's of the sun setting while it's in full effect.

Then still have a large portion of my trip to experience the darkness of night.
