The Big & Dandy Basic Mescaline/Cactus Questions Thread - Round Two!

I'm guessing that while none of the alks are evaporated, a small percentage DOES get stuck to the edge of the pot/pan while boiling down. It's most likely and insignificant amount, but I always scrape the edges in the the small amount of water left before pouring into a cup.

i haven't tried ayahuasca, yet. but i can honestly agree, cactus tea is the foulest thing I have ever tasted. Sometimes people eat something they think is disgusting, and after I try it I'm like, "eh, it's nothing compared too pedro tea.) Much to their horror, and confusion. :D
Haha... so true.

You haven't really experienced 'disgusting' until you drink pedro brew. There's something about it - after the first few sips - that immediately invokes your body's gag/vomit reflex.

^Yeah, ayahuasca is pretty bad, but san pedro juice is worse than that. That is why I asked the above question.

Anyway, thanks to all you who answered my question.

speaking of the horrible taste/texture/etc... I may be indulging tonight ;)

Hi I have skimmed through the prev posts in this thread to see if the info i am after has been pre posted and i couldn't find it, so i apologise in advance if am repeating a question.

When performing the extraction of mescaline using D-Limonene tech, can you re-use the orange oil after separating it from the vinegar? its just if you were to make up a few trips you would end up using 5L or more of D-Limonene, so just wondering if you can simply use the same 300ml a few times before discarding it or does it become unsuitable after the first extraction? any advice on this method would be greatly appreciated :-)

Don't know if this has been discussed already, but does anyone have thoughts on WHY synthetic mescaline is so incredibly rare? It is easier to synth than LSD, yet acid is so much more common on the black market.

Probably because an effective dose of LSD is thousands of times smaller than one of mescaline. Mescaline is much harder to smuggle, conceal, and make a profit from. Two chemists who were busted in 2000 were estimated to be producing a kilo of LSD every 5 weeks. That's 10 million decent doses; to achieve the same number of doses of mescaline would have been an inconceivably big operation.

That's an interesting though. It might have to do with the dosages involved. 300mg of mescaline is only one dose, yet it's 3,000 LSD doses.

Although you must admit LSD isn't all that common either. It's accessibility is generally intermittent and with few options of going to different people. Usually it's just 1 person who has it. I'm sure it's different at music festivals but the regular market LSD isn't all that common either.

Psychedelics aren't really used by that many people and thus the market for them is a whole lot smaller than other more addictive drugs.

True, but in the circles where there is a booming psychedelic market, LSD is pretty common and mescaline still isn't.

And I thought of the dosage thing, but that doesn't stop drugs like MDMA being produced and readily available. Of course there is probably much more of a demand for ecstasy on the drug market than mescaline and the dose still is significantly smaller.

It just seems kind of strange to me.. there would definitely be a market for synthetic mescaline

LSD was also the big, famous drug, and is probably what most people are familiar with when they start to take drugs. Mescaline didn't have a Tim Leary. We've all heard of mescaline, of course, but I doubt a lot of people on the street you asked would. There's a market for MDA too, but not enough people want it to make it widely available. If there was a much more potent drug that had similar effects to MDMA, MDMA would probably be a lot rarer.

I've had a batch of mescaline tea (chop & boil method) in my fridge for over a month-- is it still going to be good to drink??

I've had it in a sealed tupperware container w/ aluminum foil covering the entire thing.

I don't know, it does seem possible that the stuff in the tea that's not mescaline might have gone bad. I'm not sure if I'd drink a cup of normal tea that'd been in the fridge for a month. I'd probably go for it as long as there's no visible mould or anything.

all it is is water and lime juice... I was sort of scared that it might mold. I haven't opened the lid yet out of fear that it did indeed mold...
