I wonder, perhaps some people idealise LSD so much even if it's not necessarily superior to everything else because the whole subculture was born around LSD. I can imagine one could possibly replicate the "soul" of LSD with the right substitution of phenethylamines or tryptamines and perhaps the result would be superior to LSD itself. I didn't take LSD many times and last time I did was a long time ago, so to definitely say whether it's really superior or inferior, I'd have to trip on it a couple of times more now that I've been off benzodiazepines and a lot of stuff feels much different than it used to.
 
I find LSD to be far superior to any other chemical around. AL-LAD and LSZ are great for a mild and non-challenging little psychedelic vacation, but neither of them seem to "pierce the veil of reality" so to speak, at least for me.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy AL-LAD and LSZ quite a bit, but if I had an unlimited supply of LSD I wouldn't be exploring these compounds nearly as often.

well since SSRIs cause serotonin receptor downregulation, it would definately take more than one day to get full effects from a serotoninergic psychedelic. but it is not advised to do that because SSRIs tend to have nasty withdrawal symptoms, which would make a trip completely pointless and unenjoyable anyway.

I'd advise against not taking your medication just because you wanna trip.

Hmm I see, guess there's no easy way to do it without wasting some AL-LAD.
 
Speaking of SSRIs, I've been on cyclobenzaprine (I threw out my back) since Wednesday. I took one about 10 hours ago and don't plan on taking any tomorrow.

However, I'm planning on taking 250ug of AL-LAD tomorrow afternoon. I know cyclobenzaprine has some serotonin antagonist properties and I'm hoping that a few days on it haven't screwed with my ability to trip tomorrow afternoon. I only took 10mg today and it has an 18 hour half life, so hopefully I'll be good.

It would depend on the situation, because they're just so different, but I'd probably go with AL-LAD because it's more novel for me at this point. But if I had to pick one or the other for my desert island for the rest of my life I'd go with LSD for sure.

If I was offered a sheet of one or the other, I'd probably pick AL-LAD, just because it's so new and different from LSD, and because I'm more confident that I'd be able to find LSD in a decade than AL-LAD, which could easily be banned everywhere and nowhere to be found in the black market.
 
I think I've said it in other threads but I'll repeat here for the purpose of general information. This is from a kid I ran into at a phish show in chicago this summer:

"Hey I've been selling a lot of these 'Aladdin' blotters but I don't know anything about them, are they dangerous?"

His answers to my follow up questions seemed to say that in Chicago, classical (non internet) distribution of AL-LAD is going on. Someone bought crystal, laid white blotters at 100ug (unevenly according to this dude) and has been distributing them to at least the chicago area as 'Aladdin'. Food for thought

I have now done al lad about 5 times. I absolutely love it. I find it is very social in low doses. I took +-100ug after a few hours of drinking and it added visuals and a lucid headspace. Very fun.
 
Does anyone know if AL-LAD is being sourced from China like a lot of other RC's? Or is it more of a Euro thing? I think last time I was reading about it, probably late 2013, the consensus was China wasn't overly interested in it.

Asking because I saw a vendor with 100mic units along with other chems that are most often Chinese sourced.
 
Only a very few people know exactly where Al-Lad is being made, but one thing is fairly certain, it's not been made in China up to now.

Having said that, I doubt even the original vendor & source of all Al-Lad up to now would be able to tell us whether or not some new vendor had knocked some Al-Lad up recently & released his own batch onto the market... Such information would probably eventually come to light only after an avalanche of evidence.
 
I had read somewhere there was a synth that came out with black xstal out of china, I figured that's what those black blotters where. Then there was a light yellow batch after that.
 
Apparently a recent synth did indeed come back pure, dark crystal but as far as I know it was not produced in China.

I can't comment on any blotters I haven't seen. You should take pics! But there is plenty of crystal Al-Lad sold as crystal & it could easily be laid on pretty much any kinda blotter you'd care to name & sold on for a small profit on the dark or the street. Crystal Al-Lad works out slightly better value than blotters, & buying your own blotter paper is Ebay easy.

edit - when the dark crystal is laid on blotter, it turns the blotter a little darker than usual, but not black.

Haha, was just an impulsive retort. No real beef with China, but as far as their involvement with the RC scene goes, I'm not a fan. That, and their shitty record of human rights violations.

Chemists and the government aren't the same, of course. It seems to me the chemists are doing a fine job of making cheap, high quality chemicals for the rest of the world. It's up to us to choose which ones we dabble with.
 
I'd be interested to find out if there's any qualitative difference between the black crystal and previous batches. I would guess not, due to how small the amount of impurities in a 150ug dose would be. However, such a color would definitely indicate a substantially less pure end product, unfortunately my chemistry knowledge isn't great enough to speculate as to what the actual cause of such coloration is.

The one nice thing is I would hope that if China is pumping out crystal AL-LAD the average price per dose might drop.

My issues with Chinese chems and their government are independent of each other. And I would probably disagree with you that Chinese chemists are doing a "fine job" compared to Euro batches especially when it comes to the more psych based RC's. Simple synths of stims and such, which hold little interest to me, are one thing, but when it comes to something more involved like AL-LAD I think only a very small percentage of the Chinese RC labs are capable of a quality production.
