Guys, take it easy. My statement was tongue-in-cheek. I understand that tone is often difficult to detect over the internet and that it wasn't really funny anyway, but frankly I'm surprised that people are actually getting offended over my statement. I thought PD was a little better natured than that.
My educational background is in biochemistry. I completely understand why 2C-T-7 is named what it is. I also understand that pet names for drugs are not only stupid and unnecessary, but often dangerous as well. Again, my post was not serious. I was tripping on the stuff and in my intoxicated state of mind it struck me that 2C-T-7 is an especially ugly name, even compared to the other 2Cs. To me it sounds harsh and uninviting (which is probably a good thing anyway, but I digress). So I thought it would be fun to see what other PD regulars would come up with if they had to opportunity to rename 2C-T-7. I wasn't seriously suggesting that we should rename the compound (as if that would even be remotely possible anyway). I think that part at least should have been obvious.
Shambles: You are well respected in my eyes. I know that this is your forum, and it is completely your call how you moderate it. If you want to edit out the following and take it to PM, I'll respect that too. I'm just posting this in public to hopefully clear up any possible confusion.
In retrospect, my most recent reply to Chemical Wizard was probably a bit over the line. My response was a hurtful thing to say. I was just angry because of this:

At the time it seemed a rather obnoxious and presumptuous thing to say. It's a pet peeve of mine when people give their opinion as if it is fact and then follow it with "simple as that" (even though I am often guilty of this offense myself). Things in life are rarely "as simple as that" -- well, if you're a thoughtful person anyway. I mean, honestly, if I don't like the name of a particular compound then my only option is to abstain from drugs? If I don't like a particular compound [even though I do, and I don't believe I ever said otherwise] than that somehow means I'm "dissing" Shulgin? A very haughty remark. But alas, I'm probably overreacting in my sleep deprived state, so let's forget about it. So in conclusion, I agree that that my response to CW was unnecessary and basically an emotional personal attack.
I have a slight issue with deleting my posts that were in response to Dread. Even taking the ambiguity of online posting into account, I'm quite surprised that those posts could be interpreted as flaming. Nonetheless, they were also a bit off-topic and thus unnecessary, and if you really feel that they should be deleted then I completely understand. What I do have a bigger problem with is the fact that those posts were deleted while something like this:
Your post is pure garbage and you are an ignorant and hypocritical fool. Pepcid AC works for ALL research chems, dumbass.
is allowed to remain.
