You wanna avoid things like doxylamine succinate, gaufinesin, pseudoephedrine, etc. Next time you get robo, just get the Robitussin Max Strength DM kind. Anyother syrup isn't worth it.
mulberryman said:The problem with using Benadryl for itch from DXM is that it wears off long before the DXM does, and then the itch can come back. I never got the itches from DXM, and most people don't, but if you do, its because its a histaminic reaction, in other wordfs, you're allergic to it. If you can't get the itchiness to stop, you should consider using it less often, or even finding a different way to get high, since continuous allergic reactions can be very dangerous. This is why I had to quit drinking poppy tea.
Xorkoth said:Also, I hate to burst your bubvle, but you should REALLY take a small (~100mg) dose first, to see if you're one of the ~7% of people with a certain enzyme missing from your chemistry, which makes DXM affect you very strongly at very low doses. If you feel little or nothing at 100mg, you're good to go for a higher dose. But if you're one of the 7% (not a really small percentage or anything), 350mg could bhe dangerous and would be very hellish to go through... for at least 16 hours. Trust me, a bad DXM trip goes on forever. And ever. In fact the extremely long lingering effects is one of the reasons I hate DXM. That and I began developign very bad reactions to it after taking it in the form of Coricidin long ago.
Xorkoth said:Yes
So you've used it before? Go for it then
350mg could be pretty intense depending on your sensitivity but more likely it will be moderate. In any case it should be safe, if you're sure you won't react badly.
mulberryman said:Thats what I used to take, the kind that has 15mg per 5ml.
mulberryman said:Well, I'm somewhat sensitive to DXM, but usually 3-4 oz, or a little less than half the large bottles would send me into another dimension. I don't take it anymore, since it causes side effects for me. DXM is an experience, but you could say I've moved on from it. Still, every once in a while I'll pick up a bottle. It can be addicting, you know...
mulberryman said:This is interesting, I've just read that DXM can block the absorbtion of vitamin B12, and anyone taking it for extended periods may need to take B12 supplements.
mike_ said:whats everyones experience with zicam cough sprays? seems like a much better alternative to robitussin. only 16.3 ml and almost 400mg of dxm.
Apostacious said:Zicam is the most foul tasting brew I've ever tried. The last time I drank it out of a glass mixed with orange juice STILL smells like zicam even after 2 years. Then again I was a pretty bad dissociative addict (high bi-weekly use for 6 years with some sporadic binges) so anything that had that bitter ass dxm-esque taste would make me projectile vomit. I can't even walk by a bottle of zicam without puking. But, if your stomach has not yet been compromised by heavy dxm use, it's not much liquid to swallow down.
