It would probably be very hard to just smoke the plain root.

The bark has like 1% DMT at the max usually, so you would need to be smoking like 5 grams of bark material for the same effect in less than 60 seconds.
 
*shudder* that would do so much damage to your lungs man. If you've ever seen grinded up mimosa hostilis root bark powder then you would know this!

You can experiment with 'ayahuasca' type brews (orally activated DMT w/MAOI) - as teas...you only need to mix into water/filter. You will almost surely puke your brains out this way (therapeutic purging hehe :D).

Has anybody tried sublingual DMT?
 
I wouldn't ever wanna try sublingual I don't think just because of how DMT feels on my tongue.
 
^ yeah I think it would be one of the more less than ideal ways to administer it as well.

I think IM is probably close to ideal pharmacodynamics (in terms of the speed of onset, immersion in the DMT space, etc). This having not taken DMT intramuscularly but having experimented with close analogues (MET, DPT).

IV may possibly catalyze the most intensely visual experiences though, since I believe the speed at which DMT is delivered to the brain is crucial for how 'deep' into the trip one is allowed. IV will provide a more calculated way to administer doses (no lost material by burning it, or leftover residue on the pipe walls. One dose, in your vein, to your brain.
 
IM is definitely something I'm interested in.

I'm really starting to prefer the longer DMT experiences nowadays.
 
mmhmmm, adrian have you ever tried laying in a field with like 200mg of DMT melted into some marijuana buds and just slowly oh so slowly toke away at that bowl, like little 30mg hits :D
 
nope never tried that, though sounds like something I will have to try. I'm planning on doing some backpacking soon...maybe then.

I definitely do it sometimes before bed with the lights off and some good music, usually "dark star" (grateful dead) on repeat :D
 
DMT in combo with 4-HO-MiPT and HOT-7 was a mind warping, universal dissolving, consciousness smashing experience.

I loved it, and will try it again soon hopefully.
 
SO

i was out watering my acacia maidenii because it was wilting in the florida sun, and noticed some sap pouring out of the lower part of the trunk (its only a few inches in diamiter at this point). amber sap. if the bark contains dmt would this sap contain it too.
should i smoke the sap lol?
 
yes please do and tell us what happens. does it smell all indoley?

or rub it on the inside of your nasal membrane maybe?

it could be a fungal invasion though maybe? no botanist here, just a person who likes to trip :D

Body load with DMT

I have recently had two low dose experiences smoking DMT extract (from Mimosa hostilis bark). I had a very physical experience both times with some LSD-like visuals. I didn't 'break through' to the space many people talk about and would love to, but to be honest I feel I am being held back from taking a higher dose due to fear of the body load symptoms I experienced.

My question is this, is it normal with smoked DMT to feel an overpowering restricted/trapped sensation, and a difficulty (or perceived difficulty) in breathing?

I'm only 34 and recently had an ECG heart trace and blood pressure check, both showed me to be in good physical health, so I'm confident my body is in good condition. I guess my fear is that I may be having an unusual reaction to the chemical and that fear is stopping me from fully letting go.

Maybe I'm just worrying too much! lol :D

Any advice appreciated! :)
 
I have found dmt to be possibly one of THE most euphoric psychedelics out there.
Try getting a breakthrough dose, is glorious in all ways.
 
yeah there are really no negatives. The uncertainties you are now asking about will be cleared away once you have a breakthrough dose. There is nothing to fear with DMT.

But, to answer your specific question, the tactile sensations reaches a plateau of peak effects, I've found and is largely unattended to during the peak experience.

Well there's a chance its from the "unknown crappy alkaloids" sometimes pulled out of mimosa root bark... I used to have some scary/unpleasant bodily symptoms and "dark visions" from crap i could not separate out from the DMT that would definitely stop me from using it anymore.
 
There are some physical effects that might be considered by some as a 'body load', but I think that description has too many negative connotations to describe DMT. The main effects are benign, once you have worked out what they are, how they feel and where they are leading. Like 'Gaian Planes'?? and Adrain say, once you break through, they are sort of irrelevant. Fear not, and go for the big one.
Vaping DMT can play havoc with your chest if you smoke too often. I had a bit of a tight chest one time following a session one time, which was worrying enough to make me cautious about frequent vaporising.

is there anythihing in sap that i shouldnt smoke? its like smoking syrup right? syrup that gets you high.

it dosnt smell because its dry. ill go burn some brb
 
Sensations of tightening in your chest and difficulty breathing are fairly normal. To an outside observer you will probably seem to be breathing heavily, but are not in respiratory distress, this is not a known side effect of DMT at any dose. Feelings of anxiety and body load on the comeup are normal and pushing through them is part of the difficulty people have in breaking through.
 
I've had similar problems, and I think that the best way to avoid trouble is to smoke carefully - don't bust your lungs too fast with the hot vapour - and keep your pipes or vapourisers clean...
Also, I think that synthetic DMT may have been easier to smoke than MHRB extract. Not always completely pure, you know.
Everyone says DMT is safe and that the ill effects are just perceived as such, but I know it can certainly feel dangerous, even in a physical sense. Of course, you have to relax and not panic, but it's probably also crucial that you smoke the stuff patiently.
