^^ Well, the DOX drugs are a class of psychedelics that is very worthwhile in its own right. However, it IS a shame that people are greedy and that it's become a problem that it is misrepresented as acid. :\

Oh for sure, I have never tried any- I wasn't saying they aren't worthwhile just misrepresented as you say. I know little to nothing about them :\ Thanks for the detailed post Recept, I'd never heard of DOPR.

Doesn't Aleph-7 elicit the "Beth" state- altered conciousness with no discernible features...they sound strange to me. 8o

Yeah, the Alephs do sound strange indeed, at least from reports in PIHKAL. They are apparently nothing like their 2C-T-x analogs, while the DOx seem to draw many parallels with their 2C-x analogs.

Very interesting.

but what it fails to point out is that the best sorces for LSD are art show's/festivals and music show's/festivals.

Hello Everyone!

I've spent time the last several days familiarizing myself with the board, reading threads and what not and wanted to say hello as a first time poster.

I also do have questions regarding LSD and how it impacts sleep (dreaming in particular) and creativity.

I have recently taken some low doses of L after laying low for a year, usually tripping once a week. In between, and actually all around, my dreaming has become a lot more intense and memorable. Why is this? Where can one read research papers or any previous studies on LSD and sleep/dreaming?

I have the same huge question regarding LSD and creativity. It was clear today, as I had visions during meditation of lettering/text unlike anything I had ever seen before, that this is something I wouldn't imagine when not influenced.

Apologies for the lengthy post, and I look forward to reading more of what other members post on Bluelight.

Hello there and a hearty welcome!!! I have noticed that regular/ish consumption of LSD certainly increases spontaneous creativity, such as drawing of abstract patterns, creating music I normally wouldn't, listening to music I normally wouldnt to see where it leads- I have a friend adamantly into death metal who got really into Phil Collins during a strong LSD trip and still loves him to date: weird.

Anyway, perhaps the alterations in seratonin that LSD induces would lead to secondary effects in the synthesis of melatonin (redction one might assume??). I have noticed however that any change in neurochemsitry- either from drug use or non-use- often cause strong lucid dreaming experiences, so who knows why? As to reasearch papaers, the only people who possibly could have conducted it recently would be M.A.P.S.

:)

That's funny, just a couple of hours ago I read the following on the melatonin page on wikipedia:

Many psychoactive drugs, such as LSD and cocaine, increase melatonin synthesis. It has been suggested that nonpolar (lipid-soluble) indolic hallucinogenic drugs emulate melatonin activity in the awakened state and that both act on the same areas of the brain.

Edit: BTW, cannabis consumption has been shown to increase melatonin production as well, if you're smoking as well it is possible it has something to do with increased dreaming / REM sleep activity as well, meomio. Although, personally I've noticed that I have much more trouble remembering my dreams when I'm smoking cannabis. Other people are not this way though, so YMMV.

PS. Welcome to Bluelight :)

body tension and lsd

ive been taking gel tabs lately that im 99% sure are lsd because they have no taste besides being slightly sweet probably from the gelatin and the trip is identical to my other experiences with other blotters that im sure were lsd now it just started to bug me lately because i don't completely recall tension from my trips off of other blotters but maybe i just realized it but i tend to feel tension that doesn't feel like a body load of a doX or anything but its definitely there and i feel a sort of relief from it when i curl my toes or stretch in general is this unusual?

It can. LSD tends to cause a feeling of stimulation, but it's pretty set and setting dependent as to how you'll react to it.

Merged in a breathless display of run-on sentences. ;)

My minds voice ended up shouting by the end of that. :)

Muscle tension and jaw clenching are not unusual at all for LSD. Anything that stimulates the CNS really can cause these kind of things.

Very true. Get on a beanbag and you'll melt into it- dance like a fiend in the bush and you'll feel great. LSD can be semi-sedating I have found, as well as mega-stimulating.

Just checking. We were all clenching our jaws last time we tripped. Just making sure it wasn't some RC.

It could have been... who knows? But jaw clenching is not a reason to suspect it was. But having finally done large doses of both LSD and DOC, I do find DOC to sometimes be very similar to LSD indeed.

Ok so long story short -

Took 2 and 1/4 hit of what my experienced acid user frined told me was strong L. It was my first time.

The high was incredible and i was laughing SO much but it lasted maybe 3-5 hours, then i was pretty much back at baseline, could be many reasons, weak L, the set/setting, or maybe the fact that my experienced user friend seemed to get really paranoid and anxious as soon as we started to get spun and just wanted to leave the nature park we were in, so the peak of my trip i spent staring at the ground so i wouldnt fall over rocks or tree roots as we walked down the mountain, but that kinda killed my buzz and also when he wanted to go home and sleep 2.5 hours after dosing with us, so we drove back to my house and he left my friend and I there, and we had never taken L before and we both at 2 1/4 hits each, and smoke a lot of pot, and our amazing insightful mind opening peaceful beautiful journey was cut drastically short and we were thrown back into reality with parents as soon as we thought it was just starting to get good....so i dont know if a proper setting would have made the trip longer or better but anyway....

today (day after) i woke up and my toes/feet are sore/numb/burning kinda, and its annoying and i dont know if its related at all to the L i took last nite. Anyone ever have a similar feel in their feet?

^Can't say I've felt that in my feet- it could be residual constricition from the LSD- but 3-5 hours is not a normal timeline at all for acid.

i was recently sold some trips and was told that it was acid but the come up took about 2 - 3 hrs for both me and my friends on 2 seperate occasions..
and it being my first time it means im completely inexperienced on the matter , i still had a great night lots of laughing and good experiences no visuals would this be LSD or perhaps something else?

The question i have adresses a number of things on lsd, I myself have never used lsd before. The question I have is concerning bad trips. Most of you know of slc punk, and the man that was fried from the acid in his pants. I've been told, after you take acid, everything will always be different. No matter what. Well my question is, say you take 100ug of acid. Is that enough to completly fry you're brain? What are the chances of this happening? I'm basicly asking how possible it is to completly fry you're brain, and at what doses can this occour?
