Basically the DOx class is for the alpha-methyl (amphetamine) versions of 2C-x. DOM, DOET, DOPR, DOB, DOI, DOC, DON are alpha-methyl versions of 2C-D, 2C-E, 2C-P, 2C-B, 2C-I, 2C-C, 2C-N, respectively. There are also amphetamine versions for 2C-T-x compounds, but they are named Alephs (eg Aleph-2 and Aleph-7 for alpha-methyl versions of 2C-T-2 and 2C-T-7).
I have only tried DOI thus far from this class, and despite most people finding it the least worthwhile of the DOx, I gotta admit I enjoy it a great deal. It's more psychedelic than you would think - even less than 1mg can provide decent mind-manifesting effects; and it's not that much more stimulating than 2C-I, if at all. The only really unpleasant thing about it for me is the duration, it can really grow weary on you during the comedown phase (this coming from someone who enjoys amphetamine a lot), but overall a really nice substance.
But yeah, it truly is a shame about it being sold as acid. These substances are for serious psychonauts only, as they require lots of commitment (especially time-wise), and will generally not be a great experience for someone who is thinking they're in for a 12-hour ride maximum, only to find out in reality the trip lasts twice as long.
