Xanax XR is shitty

I'm know the docs are covering their asses from junkies overdosing, but i' ve been getting 2mg xanax for panic attacks but i really need 3mg. instead ive ben playing merry-go-round with klonopin, and valium, even the dreaded xanax xr. If you really want to get high break your forearm, go to the ER and let them vegative you with percs, midazolam, and Oxy.

P.S. where the hell are people getting IV midazolam and such. someone must have a connect in a hospital or pharm warehouse.

aint xanax xr only in the states? or has it just been released in oz
 
they're talking about the states. i remember when xr xanax topics were rather popular going back a few years now but they hardly ever pop up anymore. they are essentially abuse proof from my understand - as in crushing them doesn't simply defeat time release. makes sense they're not very popular/spoken about anymore. a longer (valium, clonazepam) acting benzo makes more sense when xanax is for (acute) panic attacks.
 
^ lol i like it... and still have a script to take occasionally but most doctors (aside from the one who originally rx'ed it) are very confused by the concept
 
Oh ok thought so. Back off topic on Lyrica as was discussing before. Someone on another forum said that it takes about a week for Lyrica to build up to a therapuetic level. If thats true would that mean since I took 600mg yesterday that may have stuffed up my tolerance now that today I will be taking a lower dose? I don't get it. How can there be any truth to that when it's used for pain as well?

Took 600mg last night didn't really feel any anxiolytic effects maybe benzo tolly too high

When it rains it pours.... after initially seeing my GP about anxiety associated with dexamp use (for adhd) and issues sleeping due to finishing work late.... and basically what I self-diagnosed as a life-long undiagnosed low level anxiety problem, he prescribed me seroquel. I had never heard of it but was willing to give it a try. Basically my biggest problem was on the back end of dexamp use as they were wearing off I would find that I would often get fairly anxious about everything. Its like the focus of the dex starts to wear off but the residual stimulant effect is still hanging around causing a level of general anxiety. Additionally if I finished work late and/or I took the dex later in the day I had a lot of trouble sleeping.

I just wanted something that I could take "when needed" to take the edge off. Obviously I was hoping for a benzo, but he was wary about prescribing a 30yr old male a benzo (as most GPs are want to do) so he gave me sero. I pretty much fucking hated seroquel. It was fun the first night because I mixed it with xanax and it had a dissociative effect which was awesome and fun. But that wasnt what I wanted long term and that experience wasnt repeatable anyway. All they did was my be tired as all fuck.... I slept like a log then the next day I was a fucking zombie. Not for me.

Ok, so separate to this I occasionally get alpraz through 'back channels' (a friend gives me some of his) and this week I obtained like 45x2mg generic alpraz tablets. Holy fuck, I thought well I better be careful.

Now I go back to the GP to follow-up on the seroquel, telling him I hate it and is there anything else.... Making it clear I dont wanna any sort of SSRI or the like.... and the motherfucker prescribes me diazepam.

Whats the point of this story? Dunno? Dont have one. I got too many benzos in my drawer. Its raining. I need an umbrella :)
 
no idea. I assume Ill be able to get another script whenever I want, as long as it its been a reasonable amount of time. since the last script. As a box is 50 I wouldnt want to go back for another script earlier than 2 months unfortunately.

Benzo WD kindling?

Im a tiny bit worried about becoming physically dependent on these things. Every week or two I binge(although the binge is due to anxiety/panic not to get high) on either Diazepam, Oxazepam or Alprazolam. I have a high tolerance due to previous use to potentiate opiates(which ive recently settled right down on, plus im on bupe maint) so I use around 3-6mg alprazolam, 20-50mg of Diazepam or between 150-200mg of Oxazepam a day for 3-6 days every 1-2 weeks for about 6 months.

Do I have any risk of building a physical dependence in a kindling type way? Ive never been an alco before but I know you can drink heavily multiple times, stop and be fine then one random time you'll binge on alcohol and go through WD's, so im kind of wondering if this is possible with benzo's? Ive been doing them for a pretty long time too, not too much like this but I have used a lot of benzos at high doses in the last 10 years.

Just curious, I think ill be fine but you can never be sure and opiate WD is death for me!! I heard benzo WD is much, much worse and I dont think I could handle that so I want to keep my use in check if what im doing is dangerous. Well of course I know its dangerous

You should be worried about becoming dependent on benzos. Not mindlessly panicky type worried, but a bit of fear is a good thing if it makes you think twice before popping a benzo, because they (benzos) get my vote for the absolute worst thing to be stuck on.

Opiate WD is death, for sure, but I think it's safe to believe the legends which proclaim that benzo WD is worse. It really is, IME. It's more drawn out, more mentally and emotionally destructive, and can be just as physically unpleasant as opiate WDs. As I've mentioned on here before, the thing that really got me with benzo WDs was that it was so insidious and so long lasting that there were times when I didn't know what was happening. I mean I actually thought that life was hell and would never get better. I really believed that with all my heart and soul, and that is about as scary as it gets. You can lose all perspective and it's no coincidence that some of the side-effects listed for benzos include wonderfully understated and innocuous expressions like:

-Homicide ideations

-Suicidal ideation

-Urges to shout, throw, break things or to harm someone

Yes, in other words, in extreme cases of abrupt cessation you can and will feel like killing yourself and others.

That's the worst case scenario, but even the 'best' of benzo WDs is hideous: confusion, nausea, lethargy, depression.

These are real risks that really do manifest themselves with benzo abuse, so it's a good idea to be a bit afraid of them and only use them when you really, really need to.

I think you know all this stuff dude, but I'm mainly restating it for newer members to the forum because it can't be said enough: reckless use of benzos leads to dark places which some people don't come back from.
 
I bought a few xanax off a random a few weeks back they were pretty cheap (I'm not sure what Xanax normally goes for on the street) they are white and have the 4 snap lines on them and a number 2 in the middle. Does this indicate they are 2mg Xanax and if so is that a strong dose? For someone who never takes Xanax or any benzo's

Yeah they are 2mg alprazolams. it is quite a strong dose for someone who has no tolerance, just make sure not to drink on it. With zero tolerance i have a full 2mg and chills me out, be prepared to get very wobbly on ur feet tho:) That only lasts a few times until u get a tolerance to it:)
 
I used to just take it every now and then when I was coming down off amphets cause it put me to sleep, I would normally just have half of one and I'll probably just do the same with these except maybe take a full one.

How dangerous is my Xanax intake?

A few of you might have remember some posts I made in the past about being diagnosed with ADD at 22. Since then I have been prescribed dexies. I probably take 10 a day as prescribed (Mon-Fri). Works great for concentration, motivation and but at the end of the day I'm burnt out and usually take 1mg of Xanax at around 430 PM.

Basically what risks of physical addiction taking 1 mg a day Monday to Friday?

How much is that risk increased with 2 mg instead of 1 mg (in one dose).

Ok well, this is just based on my personal experiences with Xanax, obviously it could be very different for you.

But my strong suggestion is to find another way to calm yourself down at the end of the day.

For me my experiences with Xanax I would count as nothing less than fooling around with a loaded gun. When I was using them I lost track of what I was taking alarmingly fast. And got physically dependant on them much much quicker than I would have expected. Make no mistake, Xanax CAN bite you and bite real hard. I would rate it as a drug that requires serious caution. I got out easy, I managed to quit before it got too out of control and spent this last Christmas sick with withdrawal. I wasn't new to benzo's either, but Xanax is sort of like a perfect storm of the benzo class.

I would recommend being very very careful, I suspect that 5 days of the week usage at 1mg is enough to create dependence if you do it long enough, how long is long enough seems to vary.

I'd be concerned not just with increasing to 2mg but of it becoming something you do every day. For me, it took less than a day of not using to start feeling withdrawal. Not fun at all.
 
take less dex.

motherfuckers are dosing dex like its going out of fashion. if i had 50mg of dex a day i wouldnt be able to sleep either. the other thing is you will become accustomed to the dex and im a few months time probably be able to sleep on the shit without benzos.

taking uppers and downers at the same same is a sure fire way to fuck up your head imo/e.

please tel me who your doc is cause i think i would like him..i bet hes in bed with the pharm companies.

seriously though i would seek some other doctors opinions.

How long are u planning to take the benzos? Anything long term and ur asking for trouble. Like mentioned numerous times benzo WD's are horrible. Having that much dex and xanax aint good at all. Short term is ok under doctors supervision but anything else ur asking for trouble. Good luck man, hope it all works out for u. Benzos are evil things.
