Yeah, don't rock the boat! I made that mistake years ago, and whilst I wasn't actually doctor shopping, I saw another doctor - because the surgery/doctor that I usually saw was closed for some unknown reason 3 days in a row when our next appointment was booked, no sign on the door, no message on their answering machine - and by the 3rd day, I really
needed my scripts. So, this other doctor grudgingly agrees to prescribe my medication "just this once" after verifying that the other surgery was indeed closed. Anyway, turns out the pharmacy calls my original doctor and tells him that I collected a script in another physician's name!
This resulted in my original GP (who I had been seeing for Xanax and Valium for around 4 years), blacklisting me from his practice and whenever my medical records were requested when I was looking for a new GP he would fax them through with a big BOLDED "Xanax - Doctor Shopper" as the main headline.

As you can imagine, this made finding a new GP extremely difficult but if there's a will then there is a way.
Like you and your boy, I had a beautiful thing going with that quack - 100x 2mg alprazolam #5 repeats (8mg four times daily) + 100x 5mg Valium #5 repeats (30mg twice daily). Despite going in to the practice and asking to speak with the doctor to explain the mix up, I was asked to leave and treated like a monster.
So, don't rock that boat MissNervosa. I did, and it fucking capsized!
Ash.
