Man to face court after drugs, ammunition seized - South Coast
Police from Shoalhaven Local Area Command have charged a man with drug offences after executing a search warrant in the state’s south.
About 11.50am yesterday (22 May), Shoalhaven Police, assisted by the Tactical Operations Unit (TOU), State Protection Support Unit (SPSU) and police negotiators, attended a home address in Tomerong, near Shoalhaven, to secure the premises and execute a search warrant.
A 24-year-old woman, an 18-year-old man and a young child, came out of the home while four dogs were secured and removed from the property by council rangers.
Shoalhaven Detectives entered and searched the home with the assistance of drug and ballistic detection dogs.
They seized ammunition, an amount of white crystals believed to be ‘ice,’ cannabis and cannabis seed, drug paraphernalia and an amount of cash.
A 60-year-old man was arrested at the address and taken to Nowra Police Station.
He was charged with:
Supply prohibited drug;
Possessing prohibited drugs, three counts;
Deal with property suspected to be proceeds of crime; and,
Possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority.
The man was refused bail to appear in Nowra Local Court today (Wednesday 23 May 2012).
