The Aus/NZ/Asia Drug Busts Mega-Thread El Número Cuatro DISCUSSION thread

hahahaha thats hilarious, I actually thought they wrote it. Was gonna punch in the numbers to see if it matches up but cbf LOL nice one ahaha

hehehe, i changed the crime stoppers website too.. Must have been in a weird mood.

The body was probably not completely gone. The acid that most people would think of as the most accessible for this type of thing would be hydrochloric (HCl) acid; I'm not sure if you read much about the Snowtown murders, but they made the mistake of putting the bodies in barrels of HCl acid and thinking it dissolves the remains. Instead it 'mummified' them, I remember the forensics/science expert they were talking to on Crime Investigations Australia said that had they used sulfuric acid (H2SO4), then the bodies would have been damaged to beyond recognition.

Also, given that the article states where the remains were dumped I assume that implies that the remains were found and identified, perhaps through dental records.

the guy went to great lengths to dispose of the body. first burnt it then used acid on the remains.

so my question is.

if there was no body. how could they have convicted him of murder?????

no dead body, no crime, therefore no murder innit??????????????????
(im not asking cuz i'm planning on offing someone. Just asking cuz i'm really curious ha)

Drugs found on street corner

Newman police are investigating how 20 bags of methamphetemines came to be found on a street corner.

A woman walking along Welsh Road spotted the bags yesterday morning and handed them into police.

The powder appears to be packaged up for sale and weighs a total of about 13 grams.

No-one has been charged at this stage.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Newman police.

^ Someone thought they were gonna get busted and ditched all their drugs?

Why can't I ever be around when this sort of thing happens, or like those people that dug up those kilos of cocaine on the beach somewhere in South America/Mexico.

yeb yeb I agree.

and what are the odds of a do-goodys finding those baggies and handing it into coppers???

I mean, I thought there was an ice/meth epidemic happening here in this country.

She must be like the only person in that street/subburb/town that dont dabble in a bit of Tina!

I was just talking today about about a shipping container of heroin that washed up to shore in Melbs... Someone called the cops and handed it in. That sort of shit happens (literally) in my dreams.

Righto, since when is methamphetamine MDMA? Two completely different substances or did the pills contain meth only? I thought they were investigating MDMA? I really hate it when they label it like that, meth and MDMA is equally frowned upon in their eyes. I also hate it when they refer pills to ecstasy, ecstasy could mean anything really. If a journalist or whoever dumbass wrote the press they should use the proper terminology or just stick to slangs.

2 DMT busts in Perth. Spot the mistakes in the article.

Dangerous powder used in WA drug labs

Hallucinations and paranoia are among the side effects of a dangerous chemical being used in drugs sold in WA, police have warned.

Police have discovered Dimethyltryptamine, or DMT, being manufactured in illegal drug labs around Perth.

"The most recent [discovery] being the seizure of 6g at two alleged drug manufacture sites at Willetton and Glendalough last week," police said.

"The manufacture process can pose a threat to health, property and the environment."

DMT, which is usually sold as a brown or beige powder, had also been found as an additive in LSD "in the form of paper tabs with various designs, the most frequent being a smiley face", police said.

Psychological effects experienced by users included visual and auditory hallucinations, altered mood, inability to concentrate and feelings of fear and paranoia.

Physical effects included pupil dilation and increased heart rate and blood pressure.

Police warned that DMT might be sold without the user knowing they were taking a different substance.

Police Assistant Commissioner (Crime) Nick Anticich said the threat of new and emerging illicit substances should be a concern to the community, particularly those who used unregulated and dangerous substances.

"Taking these drugs is a high-risk activity, especially as the composition and potency varies significantly and cannot be adequately controlled during the manufacture process," he said.

"People who take these drugs may end up in hospital in the short term either as a reaction to the chemicals or from their actions under the influence of the drug.

"In addition, the consumption of many of these substances can result in adverse long-term health effects."

It is a criminal offence to possess, sell or supply DMT and heavy penalties may apply.

Police said people in possession of such substances were advised to avoid taking the drugs and to destroy them immediately.

#1

DMT is not orally active at such a small dose particularly without the presence of a MAOI.

police officers aren't exactly known for their intelligence.

what concerns me though is how such busts could have occurred in the first place. dmt "labs" (*sigh*) don't generally contain any watched precursors or the obvious signs of dodginess associated with meth labs and the like.

were the two busts related? or just a stroke of 'dumb luck' for the police? (pun most definitely intended)
how exactly does one go about getting busted for making DMT? maybe somebody ratted them out??? so many questions.

i guess with an article so full of glaring errors and downright lies (the effects are nowhere near what you experience on DMT - and i find it very difficult to believe that "DMT might be sold without the user knowing they were taking a different substance") it is hard to believe any of it.
fucking bullshit.
it's about time the press and the police stopped lying to us about drugs - it only makes them seem all the more redundant and ignorant.
in the digital age, more and more people are informed about these matters - no longer will the same prohibitionist horseshit go unchallenged. government/media/police propaganda isn't the only source of drug info these days - it is an absolute joke.

"new and emerging illicit substances" - dmt? first synthesized in 1931...not exactly new by any definition.
"Police said people in possession of such substances were advised to avoid taking the drugs and to destroy them immediately." - hilarious.

i shall be destorying any DMT i may come accross officerssssssssss.

That is, destroying it in my lungs so that I can hyperdrive into a different realm :)

Not to mention that nature has been producing it for a very long time and humans have been using it for entheogenic purposes for quite a while as well.

Hallucinations and paranoia are among the side effects of a dangerous chemical being used in drugs sold in WA, police have warned.

I thought the hallucinations were the point, not a side effect. ;)

From this article:

"The fact that we are paying high prices per kilo for a variety of narcotics but also the fact that unfortunately the Australian public has an insatiable appetite for narcotics."

Well that should tell you a lot about how well the current tactics against drugs are working... yet the government and law enforcement keep banging their heads against the wall.

Thanks poledriver for coming back from hiatus, or purgatory, or wherever you were and being the giver of news to us lowly dissidents.

^ The police always say how well they are doing, how much harm they are preventing with their drug busts. They never admit they're fighting a war they will never win. Why would they, when their funding depends on what they say, and what the public believe?

We need a paradigm shift in the thinking of the people of the world, it's not going to happen overnight. It needs to happen at some stage, but at the moment, the few who control all of the power in the world don't want it to happen. We either need to change those in control, or make it worthwhile for them to change the current status quo. Neither of which is going to be easy.

I'm not expecting the police or politicians to admit to it, I'm more commenting on how frustrating it is that the evidence that the policies are failing is right there in front of them, yet they continue to make the same mistakes... some would say this is the definition of insanity, performing the same tasks over and over and expecting the results to be different.
