The Ashes

I get very annoyed when I hear people/media saying that Ricky Ponting should be "sacked". I do beleive (I said this after the first test) that Ponting should retire or retire as captain, but for people to say sack him is just stupid. Plus I don't beleive Clarke is barely proving himself to become captain, so if Ponting does retire (which I think he will sometime in '11) at the moment someone else should be brought in for the captaincy and Clarke should just remain as vice captain (I know alot of people will probably disagree with this).

Alot of people, me included are obviously pissed off with us losing, but some people take their comments too far. The bottom line is that a majority of the side is not in form and needs to find their feet again and because we were winning everything for around 20 years with players like Glenn McGrath, Shane Warne, Adam Gilchrist, Matthew Hayden, etc, all these players are gone and times have changed, and the aussies will definately be back up there again.

I reckon alot of people also don't think that eventhough we have lost the Ashes, if we win the last test it is a drawn series, so with the terrible form we are currently in, to possibly draw a series, really isn't that bad. It would be good to see a couple of different younger blokes given more of a go for the future, like Cameron White from Victoria. I know Camo and had a couple of beers with his dad a couple of months ago and my uncle went fishing with Camo the other day. Hi Camo! Tell the selecters to pick ya! lol.

Don't forget the suncreen you heat rashed lobsters.

I don't fancy your chances Sir Pacman, too much NSWelshness in selection for the Australian side, although Beer has made the team which is a surprise!

Haddin for Captain I say, get rid of that dud Clarke (another failure today).

In terms of Ponting, maybe it is time for him to gracefully retire.

Our new number 3 (who's name I've already forgotten unfortunately) totally made my day today, that was finally some very entertaining ashes

Nice to see some new blood in the Australian side Beer and Khawaja.

Need more new blood in my opinion, when your relying on a 35 y.o. to bail you out all the time you are struggling as a test side. Especially in a country purported to have great cricketers coming out of it's ears.

Living in Scotland and I still can't get away from the shame of losing.. Doesn't help one of my housemates is English

Andrew Strauss sent the Australian dressing room a dozen bottles of red wine to help them drown their sorrows.
The Aussies sent it all back because they couldnt find a decent opener

;)

Well I have to say, pretty pleased with the 3-1 result.

And Sir Pacman not the outcome you were looking for I guess, yep I am a pom and a UTD supporter.

Must say hi at the snake of many colours party =D

I am going to hope you are maybe a Sheffield or maybe even a Newcastle United Fan! I dont want to lose respect for you before I meet you.

Good to hear the kop were still singing about kenny well after the full time whistle!:D
