The Ashes always interest me and I'm a Kiwi!

Doug the Rug will be interesting. I hope he pings them in and bowls plenty of bouncers....

All these two teams need are an interesting wicket and there will be a result. Someone should go and sabotage the Adelaide wicket with a backhoe.
 
So my fave cricket lover hates Australia, and pretty much just goes for everyone we play. TODAY WAS UNBEARABLE. I wish I still thought Australia was the best and fairest players in the world. (I was young and naive, okay?!) Knowledge is destroying my love for the game. I cricinfo'd for most of the day... but god damn.

I'm not working tomorrow, so I think I'm going to fuck off the Christmas shopping I should be doing, grab some beers, and pray for a miracle.

I have to say after living in Australia for 21 years now (once even trying to convert to supporting the Australian team, only to be thwarted by Pakky supporting Aussies at the '94 world cup) and facing years of Australian thumpings and gibes after being thrashed, it is quite the enjoyment to be watching this series.

The rest of the colonial world has been waiting for this thumping for 20 years. Even the South African's have been more humble in victory than Australian cricket. It wasn't that long ago where there were calls for the Ashes be cut to only 3 Test's from the local media because England couldn't put up much of a fight.

I say "Come on England!!!" Beat the living shit out of them and send Pouting packing. Then we can get back to laughing at English sporting teams again.

If you count the last innings at the Gabba the Poms are currently 834/3 8o

Havent supported australian cricket since they dropped dean jones back in the 90's!

Was going to start supporting them but then they dropped brad hodge who still cant even get a game in the one day team despite having one of the best averages for the last 5 years!

But i do love the vics! Go bushrangers and long live bill lawry!

I know I'm really just jumping on the cricket band-wagon (this is what you get when you're living with a full-on sports junkie - you have to embrace it!), but as I keep saying - the idiots who were crowing and insisting on shortening the series were different people.
The Australian cricket team is constantly evolving and changing and I don't think you can lump this team in with the morons of yore. :p

All of that said, I'm getting a bit sick of the Aussies being shellacked. Can we teach one of them to bowl, or is it a lost cause? :(

Although how can you NOT pick a guy called Beer? Makes for some fun betting. I'm putting my hard earned on Beer to get 5 wickets. Also $20 on Beer to make a ton.
