Nah, gauze is better than a plaster and a plaster wouldn't be large enough for the burn area. Tis a rather large burn.

Be careful, dude. I know you have insurance, but they'll tell you it's neglect if you keep smashing the screen. Once it gets to that stage, you're essentially fucked.
 
If you have access to panty hose or something similarly fine, put that on the end of your hoover nossle and turn that bitch on. It'll suck it up with out it going into the hoover. Turn upright so that what has been sucked up doesn't fall and gently remove the filter and there ya go boyo! ;)

Never ever try to get friends or family into a job you have. I made that bloody mistake twice in the homecare company I was fixing the rotas for, ugh. Me sis in law quit on the New Year's Day, leaving the on-call staff a lotta hassle n me friend, L, kept phoning me up at 11 pm to tell me she couldn't go to a client's house at 7 am. So i had to complain against her n she thought I was a right backstabbing cow. Cheeky bitch. I got her that job there n she was taking the p***. She knew damn what the job entailed. She also would moan that she never had enough hours, yet had no public transpirt so that was the only area we could give her to do.

Dropping on clients like that was outta order because these are old people who depend on others for EVERYTHING, catheter change, feeding etc. one couple had moto neuron disease n she'd just make an excuse last minute leaving my sis in law or another lovely lady, C, to do alm the work (it was a double manning call, meaning two people werre needed). Needless to say they sacked her n it was her own fault.

Since then if I've worked; paid of voluntarily, I don't try getting me mates work as it's really bloody embarrassing looking your employers in the face when they've messed it up n fucked off leaving you to face the music.

If he was any form of mate he'd have respected you getting him that job, the trouble you went to n make the effort. Now you look bad. Sometime's it's best to just look out for yourself. Sorry this has happened to you.

Man, that's pretty shit of her, you're absolutely right it's a daft idea, if I could go back in time and not give him a reference I would, like you said it makes both of us look bad and it's worse for her cos she was in charge of hiring too. You're right he should at least consider how it makes us look and how much of a favour we did him, instead of fucking up and then lying about it to us when several other staff members corroborated the various stories of him drinking/sleeping etc. Last time I do that!

Angry cos me and my missus both gave a (formerly, I guess) good mate of mine a reference to work at her company, she hired him, has done nothing but try help him out getting him shifts and changing stuff round and whatnot and all he's done is take the piss in increasing amounts, mostly by dropping out of shifts, drinking on them, and falling asleep, nearly losing a contract for the company cos the client found him. Now they won't give him any more work and he will, without doubt, take this as an injustice and I felt bad for wanting him out my life but I asked my best mate for advice and then remembered that she hates him, that no one from our home town will speak to him after an extraordinary cancer-related lie and kicking off at a party I ended up throwing him out of and oh my god why have I not just given up before? It do my lovely mz Snollz but only if you have a pretty clean area where it was dropped. You're gonna pick up everything!!! I found this worked in a stim related spillage incident. Worked rather well for me =D That is if you don't mind the odd fluff n stuff that comes with hoovering. :!

Damn, sounds like a nightmare with your mate! I know jobs are getting a bit easier to come by than they were a few years ago but still, you should treat any opportunity like gold. No offense but said mate that you tried to help out sounds like a true dick! It's one thing to fuck up on a job that you got on your own but ALWAYS, do your very best when you've gotten that job because of a mate. You're only letting them and yourself down if you don't. What a shame. Feel for ya hunnie, i've been there.
