The "American" parts of BL

I've read this thread from start to finish, don't have much to add right this second but will be back later for a more detailed reply, it's a highly entertaining thread to read though.

I'm all for broadening my horizons and posting in other sections of bl too that some have said are the 'american parts' but as most have said i feel more comfortable posting in EADD because i know the people that will reply and value the opinions of them more than other random posters in some of the other forums, although this is not always the case.

More to come,

Mugz :sus:

Isn't that just a pie with just a crust on the top? I mean this non-offensively but all the Mexican food I have tried in the UK is awful. Is there Mexican food that doesn't give you the runs?
It's probably because you guys can't really handle spicy food. Americans in general are a lot better at handling spicy food from what I've noticed.
but yeah, mexican food in the UK is awful. The only place I've ever had decent mexican food outside of mexico and the usa was in chiang mai. Even there it wasn't that good but it was edible.

Trust me Americans of European descent won't have adapted to spice. They say that we still haven't adapted properly from hunter gather diets to eating grasses such as wheat etc. We eat a hell of a lot of indian food here its not that we can't eat it just it doesn't agree with some peoples bodies.

I can eat Thai food slathered in birdseye chillies without feeling like i've been kicked in the stomach. I think it's the combination of sloppyness and heat that my body just doesn't like. I'm still fairly convinced that we aren't cooking Mexican right, and that if I had it cooked by a proper mexican i'd be alright.

Anyone can adapt to spicy food if they eat it often enough. It just takes training and discipline.

I had a girlfriend who was white that can handle heat even better than me. :D

On Indian food: that's a little different than mexican food. While it's not exactly "hot", the spiceness of the food sometimes gives me the runs.

There are also different types of mexican food. There is standard americanized mexican fare, or you can eat legit food which varies across region. The food from the yucutan is an entirely different cuisine from central mexico, D.F. has its own kind of big-city fusion, there is food from baja which is mariscos also (as in the yucutan area) but done in a totally different way, southern mexican cuisine is more similar to what you will find anywhere in central america - lots of bananas, pork, less chiles, much calmer food.

Its all tasty, but it would almost be like me saying "I feel like some european food today"

yh we definatly don't cook it correctly. Near enough all of the mexican food here is the fast food style, home made and home cooked Chicken Fajitas is one of my favorites.

Im not talking about handling heat that does come with just being exposed to more heat often enough. Im talking about how it can cause the body trouble in digestion. It takes many thousands of years for bodies to adapt to diet.

they have this stuff called easy mac that is made like this. It is disgusting.

So it is true. I do believe you can get packet pasta and sauces here too (however Iam not a student so cannot comment further), however to not make macaroni and cheese from scratch is lazy and well weird!

It's true and it's awesome.

In what ways is it "awesome"? describe please, even the dirty bits :D

We've got Shepherds Pie, but it's mostly older people that eat that?

I do like a shepherd's pie but I personally don't class it as a pie. A true pie should be made with pastry with a crust on top and a nice crispy edge to the crust. Shepherd's pie is just mince a potatoes cooked in the oven. I prefer a cottage pie though because I'm not too keen on lamb mince...

Is it true American's make mac n' cheese from a packet mix?
Yeahhhh and its good but a lot of african americans make homemade mac and cheese bahahahaha... Well my mom is white and makes it too but only since she was with my dad for 10 years rofl.

what happens when we add this? Looking at it from the other view oc, and no you are not allowed to say pizza :|

I never had instant mac n cheese until recently when I was really high. I grew up on homemade mac n cheese, which is a lot better.
