I always thought Solarbabies was the movie where the kids go to Nasa to train and accidently (wtf why is spell check saying I spelled accidently wrong?) get launched into space.
damn, all the good ones were taken! flight of the navigator being at the top...but i can't forget about the first time i saw boobies, and was thrilled each time it came on again and again...anyone remember...
and for the record. space camp was fucking awesome. i can still picture the house i watched it in, though i haven't a clue who it belonged to. you gotta love memories.
In addition to Gremlins, The Shining, Legend, Labyrinth, The Never Ending Story, and a bunch of other awesome 80s movies that have already been mentioned, I'm rather surprised no one mentioned Ordinary People, from 1980.
Mary Tyler Moore was superb in this film. Not to mention the counseling session between Judd Hirsch and Timothy Hutton--Inspired the "it's not your fault" counseling session in Good Will Hunting (1997).
I highly suggest anyone with some free time give this film a view.
