whoa. this is probably the only movie i have ever seen that feels truly controversial, and that is because it feels like a shameful felony. the US government surprises me on this one. though, now they are probably pissed it exists. there is no way a film like this could be made in today's american society; people would end up in prison and the film in an evidence locker.

not the best movie either. there is no appeal to it whatsoever beyond 12 year-old brooke shields' nakey butt.

^you like it? the novel it is based off of is by the same guy who wrote American Psycho, and Van Der Beek's character is supposed to be Patrick Bateman's son. Or so I've heard.

so many good looking girls in that movie.

^^I love Rules of Attraction.

It was worth a dollar from Redbox, I guess. Nothing new or original in this movie.

I haven't seen this movie since I was a little kid. I couldn't stop laughing through the whole thing. Fucked up lil movie lol

^Another of his gems... everything after Nightmare has been lackluster. Yes, that includes Big Fish, it was alright but not great, only good in comparison to shit like Corpse Bride.

However great Burton once was you have to largely thank Henry Selick (the director) & Danny Elfman (the music / Jack's singing) for Nightmare being the amazing film that it is.

Too many people think it was Burton directing & doing all the work...

HoneyRoastedPeanut - have you seen Burton's film Ed Wood? It came out in 94 or 95 I think, it's one of his best films & most people missed it entirely.

No I haven't seen that one, but a fellow cinephile has told me it's good so I'll check it out one day when I know something about the actual Ed Wood.

Honestly I don't think it matters if you know much about Ed Wood. It's quite a rose-tinted view of him anyway.

The Shawshank Redemption, which I thought was quite good. I think it's the film that started the whole 'Morgan Freeman voice overs are cool' trend.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Pretty amusing at times, but I'm sure the alcohol didn't hurt. Did zone out between boyfriends four to seven though, lol. Plan on re-watching.

home alone 2. it was on tv last night while i was doing stuff around the apartment.
