@HWH--that is gorgeous! I'm heading in the opposite direction soon (Ecuador!) but Alaska has been calling for a while now. The damn thing about Bucket-lists is that they take money. Foul reality.....but, who knows? maybe I will meet someone in Ecuador with a desperate need for a house-sitter in Alaska.

@Pastel--those photographs are so lovely. They do certainly make me think of Micheal. I just wrote on his shrine yesterday, thinking about his work and his life and the hat I knitted for him. The photo of the mossy rocks underwater looks like the rainforest from high above the earth. Maybe the sky is water, maybe our biggest trees are moss. Maybe we are tiny, tiny, tiny beings. I also love the slightly loop-looking happy-face leaves. Is that water cress close up?

@Mysterie and Illyria--I have never seen a picture of either of you and I had both of you genders wrong in my mind! For an old lady like me the nudie thread often just serves the purpose of letting me know what gender the person I am relating to is.=D I have to say however, that I kind of like not knowing (gender, that is). But it is certainly good to see both of your beautiful faces. Mysterie, I have always been a fan of yours in the Words forum.<3

@Spork--girl power!:)<3

its funny you say that because in my head, as a kind of joke to myself, my personality is that of a woman in a mid-life crisis

Life has a funny way of bringing you exactly what you need when you need it :D
It's funny, the only real complaint I have about Alaska is there are no Latinos. I've never gone this long without a taco. Womp womp womp
I have a friend who is deep in southern Mexico right now. It's funny to think someone I once hung out with is over 4000miles away at the moment. It makes you think about the vastness and thirst for exploration this planet holds. What amazing luck to be alive in this exact point in time and space! The lottery ticket of life is always a winner.

^thistles! That is a crystal clear picture and gorgeous.

@ snowboarder: that picture made me cry for Michael. Thank you so much for that. Remember how he always used to bring us the moon? Now you can.<3

My intermittently comatose evening of enjoyment w/ my mother (not pictured due to her insecurities about her skinhead chemo head) and sis sis.

I think we were doing Step Bros.

^Aww, your mom is going through chemo? I'm sorry; and also I don't blame her for not wanting her picture taken--it's pretty vulnerable to be a bald woman. My mom was always pretty fearless about it but I doubt I would be. You and your sister are adorable together--how many siblings are there in your family?

Hey Herby, yeah she had her last chemo treatment over a week ago. She is doing so well - it inspires me w/ my struggles when I am sick, from my diabetes issues, and my substance and alcohol abuse. I have a younger brother and sister, and they are each best friends for me. Here is another pic of me w/ my mom and sis being goofy. We got into my hats.
